Anderson trade rumor?

Over at Profootballtalk.com's Rumor Mill, there was an interesting trade rumor.

Several readers tell us that Cleveland radio personality Tony Rizzo said on Monday that the Miami Dolphins could be making a play for Anderson as part of an effort to get better ASAFP under the leadership of Bill Parcells.

Anderson is due to become a restricted free agent after the season.  The Browns are expected to use the highest possible RFA tender, which would entitle them to a first-round pick and a third-round pick as compensation, if someone else makes an offer to Anderson that Cleveland opts not to match.

I am for trading Anderson if it is for a good price which this would be.  As for taking a RB, I am not so high on.  I still think we can find a good one later on in the draft.  But we could always trade the number one pick for more picks.  Maybe to Arkansas alum, and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.

Re: Anderson trade rumor?
2 words on taking a running back early. Adrian Peterson.

With our offensive line, a back like McFadden, and Winslow and Edwards, Quinn would have to be a bust of absolute epic proportions NOT to succeed.

Re: Anderson trade rumor?
What about their second round pick and one of their running backs ie Chapman/Brown/Williams? Then we could draft defensive help while still helping out now.  It scares me to say goodbye to Anderson, but this franchise is going to go with Quinn at some point anyway.  Plus next year will be a much tougher schedule.  If they back into the playoffs and he wins a game though, his price should go up.  One random question BTW, do the Browns have the money to chase Haynesworth this off-season?  Rumors are the Bills might try.

Re: Anderson trade rumor?
The Browns will have a lot of cap space, but so will almost everyone.  I don't like Haynesworth as much as everyone else, just because this has been his best year and it is a contract year.  It just smells of Shuan Rogers in Detroit.  Played his ass off, got a huge deal and has stunk ever since.

Re: Anderson trade rumor?
Haynesworth will be a franchise tag candidate. He's not going anywhere

Re: Anderson trade rumor?
I don't see the Dolphins making a better offer than we do with him as a RFA. Miami would give up the No. 1 overall pick in the draft for Derek Anderson? And, their first pick in the third round?

I love Anderson still, but I'd take Quinn as a starter and go ape with having two extremely high selections.

In terms of working out a deal, I don't see the Dolphins giving up what we'd deem as fair.

Re: Anderson trade rumor?
I think he'd be undersized as a nose tackle in our 3-4.

Re: Anderson trade rumor?
I would imagine that Dorsey would be an oversized end in our 3-4 scheme, a la Richard Seymour in New England who was also a disruptive tackle in college.  Getting a playmaker like Dorsey on the d-line would instantly vault our defense into the top half of the league.  I don't see us getting the first overall pick for Anderson but anything's possible I suppose.

Re: Anderson trade rumor?
As far as I know, if a team was to offer Anderson after the tender, and we didn't match it, we'd get the 2009 draft pick, not this years.
