And you thought this type of thing only happened in baseball:

Apparently, Bill and the boys have done this before. Why is the only penalty draft picks? At what point does it come to forfeiture of games?
... and why didn't Belichick think of this when he was coaching for us?
UPDATE after the jump.
Update [2007-9-13 23:9:9 by MahoningValley]: The punishment from the league is in: $500K fine for Beli
$250K fine for the organization
loss of first round pick (if Pats make the playoffs) OR loss of 2nd and 3rd round pick (if Pats fail to make the playoffs)
Link to ESPN Article The league is also going to continue to monitor the Pats' activities going forward, according to SportsCenter. Pretty stiff, but I still feel that if players can miss games for off-field actions, Beli should be suspended for *at least* a game for ON-FIELD, IN-GAME cheating. And what rule does he feel he "misinterpreted?" Those rules are pretty explicit. Also, what was up with the Pats being on the wrong radio frequencies during the Sundays game? This week's game with SD should be interesting, to say the least.
