Browns-Dolphins Trade Possible?

With the offseason starting, it's never too early to start talking about trade possibilities! Lets take a close look at some of the possibilities on the horizon. Who better to talk about first than the Dolphins? With Parcells coming in to kick ass and clean house, we know the Tuna is going to be hungry to make some moves. What's available? What do we need and what are some possibilities both the obvious and the interesting.

Star-divide

So, the Browns need a defensive lineman. Particularly a DE. Who do the Dolphins have at DE that we could use? How about Jason Taylor.

Some background on Taylor, he agreed to a six-year, $45 million contract in March of 2004. He has played well in the four years since, including this year, still one of the few bright spots on the team. He'll have two years left on his contract heading into next year and he'll be 34 year old next season. What would you give up to have Taylor in a Browns uniform? What about just a 2nd rounder? Would they take it? Clears some cap space for them and gives them extra pick for the future. He isn't getting any younger. If not, what else would they take? Brady Quinn? That's maybe too much. What about DA in a sign and trade for Tailor? Still too much.

So lets talk about the first pick in the draft. MEGATRADE! We bet you Romeo Crennel and DA in a sign in trade for the first pick in the draft? Does the Tuna raise, probably, but it's an interesting question. It's an interesting question because all signs point to this being a weak draft class. And who would we take with the first pick? Glenn Dorsey? That fits I guess.

And finally, how about a MEGAMEGA trade. We bet Romeo Crennel, DA or Quinn, and Cribbs for the first pick, Jason Taylor, and Ted Ginn Jr, do you raise? All the possibilities, if I was a GM, I'd spend every second on the phone.

Re: Browns-Dolphins Trade Possible?
Are you proposing we trade away almost every person that made our team click this year...?

Re: Browns-Dolphins Trade Possible?
Im not going to comment on the ramblings above, way too much going on up there. However, I do see a possiable trade with the Dolphins occuring this off season but its not going to be for the first pick; the tuna isn't dumb.

I wouldn't be suprised if Miami trades down with Dallas for their 2 1st picks + more; Dallas wants Mcfadden bad and Miami needs more help then what the 1st has to offer. Tuna has a relationship established with Dallas so it makes sense for both clubs.

Following that trade, the Dolphins then offer our 1st pick , traded to dallas for Quinn, back to us for DA throw in a 3rd likely a Dallas pick.  Call me crazy but I think this is very likely.

If this falls out I think Savage will bite.

Re: Browns-Dolphins Trade Possible?
We don't need to push "all-in" after the type of season we had. We saw how that affected one team (the Atlanta Falcons) negatively and benefited the other team (the Houston Texans).

I do think we'll have a lot of negotiations with the Dolphins, but I believe that'll be the end of it. Multiple-player trades rarely happen in the NFL, so I'd throw that thought out of the window. I think the Browns will re-sign Anderson and accept the fact that we're blessed with two solid young quarterbacks.

The thing in the offseason that will need to be stressed is that our defensive line will need to be put together piece by piece, at a slow pace. We don't necessarily need to skyrocket to the top defensive line in the league next year with the studs of studs. If we put together an average defensive line, we'll give more freedom to our linebackers and our secondary. I think we can get an average defensive line through free agency, and trading up earlier into the second round. I'll have player names to match my "hopes" in the coming weeks.

Re: Browns-Dolphins Trade Possible?
Anderson alone would cost Miami a first and third (I think maybe in 09 though) when Cleveland tenders him.

Since Cleveland does not have a first rounder (Quinn), no way Savage deals his top pick for Taylor. We need younger players, not older ones.

Re: Browns-Dolphins Trade Possible?
Taylor doesn't even fit into a 3-4 scheme.

Re: Browns-Dolphins Trade Possible?
Seriously???? 1st you can't trade a coach, 2nd the dolphins are using the number 1 pick.  Do you really think that anybody in the NFL thinks Derek Anderson is worth the number 1 over all pick?????

Jason Taylor doesn't play in the 3-4
