I think the Browns win Monday night

I make this argument based mainly on a Butch Davis "feelin' in my gut":

1. we're coming off a bye week, so we're well rested.

2. we have some guys coming back from injury that should help immediately (Tucker, Stallworth, Jones, etc.)

3. the team knows, whether they admit it publicly or not, this game is the season for them; lose and any slight glimmer of hope is extinguished.

4. there is extra incentive because it's the Giants on Monday night - surely pride makes them want to get revenge for the previous monday debacle against the Giants.

5. the Giants will eventually lose a game; there isn't going to be another undefeated team like NE last year; this could be a trap game for the Giants, due to overconfidence based on our record and what they did to us the last time.

I say Browns 24, Giants 20.

I see it, too. In my dreams, I say Brady Quinn, golden locks blowing in the wind as he races out of the tunnel to start the 2nd half. I see him heave mighty passes downfield with his massive, muscled arm…..hmm, this is kinda gay. I’ll stop now.

They’re the Giants, we’re the little guys. But sometimes, the little guy hits the giant with a rock and cuts his fucking head off with his own sword.

GO BROWNS

At what point in your fantasy did Brady Quinn dye his hair blonde?

Yeah I know. But “golden locks” just sounds better. Though I guess “auburn locks” woulda been alright…..

Your dreams, man. I hope we get a look at him before we make the final QB decision, blonde or not.

And you poke fun at me about Harrison.

Woh, turn that around and add 1 to the Giants score and you would have been correct!

Oh crap…

Take the 35 and subtract backwards (5-3) gives you 2.
Take the 13 and divide it backwards (3/1) gives you 3.

It’s all points back to the F’ing Number 23!

There have been some head scratching upsets on MNF over the years. Underdogs tend to play their best under the bright lights.

If we put together something that looks like our offense from last year and score a bunch of points on that D, I will consider that more than a slight glimmer of hope.

What if we score an offensive touchdown against pittsburgh?
What if DA doesn’t essentially give Baltimore 14 or so points off of turnovers?

If we had been performing close to where we can on offense, we would be 3-1. If we can find our offense against the Giants, we have a shot at beating any of the following: WAS, JAX, PIT, BAL, CIN, BUF, IND, HOU, and PHI (provided our D doesn’t take steps backward). Even if we lost 2 of those, we go 8-8. That would be about the best I could hope for at this point.

Not that I think this WILL happen, but hypothetically, even in a loss, we could gain back some hope from this game.

Close game, and I hate to say it , Browns lose late on a FG.

Hope you’re right, but I can see no logical reason for thinking that this game is anything less than a humiliation.

Still, I’ll be putting on my Andre Rison shirt (don’t ask) and opening a few Brown Ales and hoping for the best.
