Ravens vs. Browns: Part 2

Here we go again, guys. Another week of trading barbs and trash. This time perhaps you'll actually keep it clean and try to stick to the game and not go calling our posters personal names. Let's have a lot of fun with this one, as it should be a great game. Both teams and fans seem to have some serious issues with each other and we'll have to settle it on the field. However, since WE can't get on the gridiron, let's rock right here and on my site.

Bring it on, Dawg Pound! Looking forward to the next seven days of the war of words!

if we get better than the worst quarterbacking in the NFL, this one shouldn’t be close.

which is a long way of saying i’m worried.

We’ve already decided to dispose of our next opponent in a businesslike fashion. It happens to be the team you root for, and that’s just sad for you, Rexx. But, hey, good luck on the rest of your season.

Be Ready Brownies, Cause I hope we will.

Should be a deathmatch there at your stadium on sunday. Just throwin it out there though, you might be seeing Brady Quinn for the first time this season. We will pressure Anderson as much as possible, force him throw 2 ints, fumble it, so on. Jamal is going to realize AGAIN it was stupid to go to a team where he has to play us twice.

RELAX THOUGH GUYS, I am a little skeptical about my Ravens being able to stop Braylon. If McCalister and Rolle cant play, which its looking like they are going to, I do not know if Fabian and Frank Walker can handle him. We have had 2 mediocre QBs the last 2 weeks move the ball in the air on us fairly well. And Im very aware that Anderson is no mediocre QB. Should be fun.

And why do you where Orange Helmets and your name is “The Browns?” never figured that one out.

And why do you where Orange Helmets and your name is "The Browns?" never figured that one out.

Could be worse, we could be the “Steelers” and have three little diamonds on our helmet. See, there’s something Browns and Ravens fans can agree on, making fun of the Steelers :D

I once told my wife...

…that I hoped Bill Cowher got hit by a cement truck and had to spend the rest of his life in an Iron Lung. My wife said I really didn’t mean that ‘cause that was mean. I replied that I’d visit him in the hospital and piss on his head sticking out of the cylinder! She says I have issues.

“The team originally wore white helmets before switching to orange (with a white center stripe.) on a full-time basis in 1952. (In the 1950 & ’51 seasons, the Browns wore the white helmets in day games and plain orange helmets in night games because of an NFL rule prohibiting the use of white or light-colored helmets for night games because of the lighting and the use of a white football for night games.”

Took a little digging to find that..
Maybe Paul Brown liked orange, he used it in Cincy also.

Three things will decide this game.

A. Our DB’s- if they play as well as they did last game, we can control the clock and keep the score close.

B. Braylon Edwards’ Hands

C. Derek Anderson- Good DA=win, Bad DA=bad loss.

by Estonianzulu on Oct 27, 2008 9:38 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

That’s it. Really, it’s almost all C.

by fwembt on Oct 28, 2008 12:00 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Similar for the Ravens

It comes down to DA’s performance for you guys. For us, it’s the same thing. If our defense can pressure, harass and sack DA, then we assist in his poor performance and win. If he has time to pick us aport, he will and you will. The rest is important, but this is the key and has been for the Ravens all season

Here's the thing

The last time the ravens and browns played, baltimore dominated the game which really started after Dawan was injuried. Our D overpower your offense and or offense run the ball with power. You can probly expect the same thing this week. The ravens have a improved Joe Flacco who is making plays in anyway he can. Our offensive play calling is starting to open up. Our defense is playing lights out even without 3 starters. I believe the Browns will put up a great fight but the ravens will previl.

I have always imagined Baltimore fans as somewhat timid and pathetic souls that allowed the Colts to leave with hardly a whimper. Yet, when that Carpetbagger Modell came calling you embraced him like a long lost lover. I lost a lot of respect for you and your city/ state leaders especially when contrasted with the true Browns fans who picketed stadiums, wrote letters, made phone calls and generally made such a hue and cry that we got our franchise back.

So….FU ratbird fans! (and the horse you rode in on too).

by Roger Dorn on Oct 28, 2008 8:23 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

No economic system has ever not had “socialist tendencies.” Pure capitalism has never, and can never exist (b/c it would last about 15 minutes). Social security, Corporate Subsidies, taxes, tariffs, etc… various forms of protectionism have always been around, in every economy, in varying degrees.

That’s what makes the charges funny, bipartisanly.

Baltimore did not stand by when we lost the Colts

Irsay stole them from us in the middle of the night after promising he wasn’t moving them. At least your old owner was up front about his problems. We tried the right way to get a franchise and even though our market was better than either Jacksonville or Carolina’s, Paul Tagliabue stonewalled us until we realized that we had no other chance to get another NFL franchise than to lure a team to us. Modell’s situation fell into our hands as he would have left for another city if we didn’t take him in. The league rolled over for you guys, having to wait only a couple of years, while we were without the NFL for 13 long years. Try seeing our point of view and you’d probably get desperate as well.

On another topic, your rudeness and obscenities certainly don’t help your argument. Luckily for you, you don’t come to my site and try that, as you’d be banned in a heartbeat for your unnecessary and ignorant comments. Stick to the issue, back it up with facts, not fantasies and perhaps we’ll have a fun, intelligent conversation. Somehow, I doubt that.

Rexx

by Rexx on Oct 28, 2008 8:32 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Exactly. In your own words. You tried the “right way” so you sought to “lure away” an established team. Your ends justified your means. The Colts are in Indy and the Browns are in Cleveland. Those are the facts. You guys have a bastardized team in Baltimore IMO. Hope you are happy and proud of it.

I beleive I am on a Browns site ,not vice versa. I doubt I would visit your site under any circumstances. Seems to me you wanted to “trade barbs and talk trash”. I am missing something?

You have given us David Simon, John Waters, and Old Bay. For that I commend you.

But you have also given us a preening murderer at MLB, a street code that preaches violence against “snitches,” a team named for the world’s creepiest songbird, eight brutal years of Brian Billick, and the WORST run of starting QBs in NFL history. Go choke on a lake trout sandwich, you filthy team-stealers.

I'd take the Browns all over again but I'd keep the name so I could sell it to a an indoor soccer club.

I’d take another team in a heart beat in this era of team switching if my city didn’t have one. It’s the name of the game. We tried to get the Spurs years ago. Most teams were someone elses. Boston Braves-Redskins, Minn. Lakers- LA, Houston Oilers- Tenn. Cardinals, Rams, Dodgers, Senators, Rangers, Mariners, Giants, North Stars, Atlanta Flames…I guess all those Cities and fans suck for being powerless by law to keep their names. You were lucky that the country rallied around you hapless losers as the drama unfolded on National TV like a Lifetime movie- Whaaa, thei thei their tttt taking myy tttteamm Whaaaa. You were even luckier that we didn’t want your name and didn’t fight it. Been there. Who cares. At least Modell left the crappy name of some guy arrogant enough to name his team after himself. Your Brownies Bitches I guess. There is no comparison with the Browns move and the Colts move. Ours happened when there wasn’t intense 24 hour coverage of the NFL and the snake slipped out in the darkness. Your idiot mayor screwed Modell and dragged the public debate on for months allowing all the homeless Brownie lobbyists to camp in the streets with dog masks and flasks.

by raven on Oct 29, 2008 1:03 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

So instead…..wait for it……the Ravens wanted to play football in PURPLE!

by Roger Dorn on Oct 29, 2008 8:13 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

We waited 13 years!

We even brought the CFL to town instead of raiding another town for an NFL team. After witnessing an undeserving Jacksonville get the expansion team, all bets were off. We played it as nice as could be. Who didn’t know Cleveland wouldn’t get a team in a few years…Baltimore’s a great sports town. We get stadium deals done and understand a teams roll in the community- something your mayor at the time ignored when holding up Modell and forcing his hand. It was personal with your mayor. He’s the idiot who got the ball rolling. As a matter of fact we averaged over 25,000 for Stallion games and won the Grey Cup. That should have spoke volumes to the NFL…not to mention a better stadium deal/money for what became the Jaguars.

You are so misinformed about what happened in Cleveland that it’s not even funny. You’ve drunk the Modell Kool-Aid. I suppose we should expect nothing less from a Ratbirds fan.

True raven ( wow what an original pen name! How long did you spend thinking that one up?). This has been a bit of a gas. Tell Rexx and your other friends I am soooo sorry I used the dreaded FU and " bastardized" in my posts. What was I thinking?

Dawgs by Nature are very territorial. In fact, some of the most vicious dog fights (not the Michael Vick variety) I witnessed were in Jamacia while staying at a Rastafarians house near Nigrile. If one dog strayed into anothers territory, there would be a hellious ( opps. there I go again ) battle.

Now we might let a bird go if it drops a turd or two on this site. But we might come gnarling if it looks like you want to poke us in the eye or settle in on our territory. Enter at your own risk.

End of Post

I started this post and now wish to end it. I’d like to start a new one and ask that any Ravens fans refrain from adding to it as it will be to answer any football related questions from the Browns fans.

Browns fans: Feel free to visit our site and check out what will be my new FanPost here.

As far as poor sportsmanship, flip back to the top. The Ravens fans who visited here think our team will beat yours. However, look at all the Browns fans’ comments that end with “FU”, “bastardize” “Filthy”, etc. and you won’t see the same from the Ravens fans. Just some fun trash talking confiedence and challenging stats. Sorry it upset you so much. Neber intended to stir up hate, other than competition between football team.

Just for the record, “bastardize” is not a vulgarity. Let’s get this straight, you are not interested in facts or stats (which you are yet to cite) or friendly conversation. You come here intending to stir up a little bit of trouble and maybe get some traffic onto your site. In order to do that, you make inflammatory remarks and bait otherwise intelligent people into saying things they normally would not. You are nothing more than the grade school bully, still desperately trying to make himself feel better.
