Monday Night Reaction

So what does everyone think about last night's game?  I saw alot of bad, but at the end of the day, I'll take a win any way we can get it.   Brady played fairly well.  It was frigid,  very hostile environment, a pretty good defense.  He didn't make a game-changing mistake, and made the throw's when necessary.  Most importantly, Quinn has shown pocket presence and the ability to lead his team with confidence.  He has shown more poise after only 2 games than Anderson did after a year at the helm.  Not ready to crown him yet, but he has shown me something the first two games.

Defensively, the secondary played much better.  Maybe that has something to do with dropping 8 into coverage the majority of the game and the fact Trent Edwards was throwing the ball, but it was nice to see them bounce back after getting torched two weeks in a row.  Dropping 8 caused our pass rush to suffer.  I would do anything for a Terrell Suggs or James Harrison type.  The defense has 1 playmaker (Rodgers), when good defenses have at least 4.  We have a ways to go on that side of the ball.

What is everyone thinking this day after a sloppy, but much needed W?

A win is always nice, and at least for today it feels good to be a Browns fan. in fact we should have a shot at 2 in a row against the texans on saturday. but the big picture for this season is still gloomy at best. we’ll be extremely fortunate to get 1 win out of the 4 games remaining against tennessee, philly, indy, squeelers. in fact, it will be tough as hell to beat cincy again the way they’re playing.

there is an awful lot to be excited about for the long term on offense. even with 2 NFL starts, I like what I see when Brady takes the field. and we have a lot of weapons around him. but this defense is alarmingly deficient in many key areas. we basically need 3 to 4 LB, 2 DB, and 2 DL to improve this defense to respectability. regardless of how good the offense becomes, we’ll never get to the next level without serious defensive upgrades.

and 1 win doesn’t all of the sudden make romeo a good coach…

this game was medicine for the ills of the past 2 weeks, but the disease still lingers. lets try to appreciate a rare victory for the rest of the week.

Yeah, Romeo sucks. At best, we win in spite of him.

Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win.
