DeAngelo Hall?
Saw this on ESPN. Apparently, Al Davis has decided to cut DeAngelo Hall. I'm not sure what our cap room is like, but I'd love to upgrade the secondary and with Al Davis kicking in his bonus, I think he'd be a great fit. I know there are issues with his character, but he's young and extremely talented. The only question I'd have is whether he would fit in to the Browns' plans long term; I'm not sure Savage would okay any short term moves.

He is young and talented, but that talent often does not show up on the field. I know the guy is fast, but honestly I do not know if he is a better DB than either McDonald or Wright right now.
Sure, right now just about anyone would be better than Cousin, but if you are expecting him to be Champ Bailey, I would lower those expectations.

Hall had success earlier in his career, but he has been nothing short of awful with Oakland. I read where he said that he had a lot of trouble adjusting from playing in a zone system which allowed him to freelance and go to the ball, to a man system, where he had primary responsibility for a receiver. What that sounds like to me is a guy who has good athletic skills, but is a very weak cover guy. Does that remind you of anybody else…….hmm, Terry Cousins come to mind?
The Browns have plenty of DBs who can’t cover already. I don’t see how adding another one helps much of anything.

Oakland’s DVOA vs. #2 receiver through 9 weeks is 49.4%, good for 2nd worst in the league. Guess which OAK corner manned their opponent’s #2 receiver? While coverage and safety help adds to those DVOA per receiver stats, the corner is at least responsible for half of it.
You know Selig? Ombudsman.

Does it matter, when you have no coaching.
