"It is what it is ... I've learned since being here that I'm very unappreciated. Not by the organization, just in the eyes of the fans and the city. Since Day One, I've been a marked man coming from Michigan. It's just gone that way."
-Braylon Edwards, WR, Cleveland Browns

Just like a Michigander…always whining.

Does that make a woman from Michigan a Michigoose?

Sometimes these guys forget that they are playing FOOTBALL

how has any fan appreciated or unappreciated Edwards. He is boo’d when he drops easy catches. He is cheered when he makes good and great plays. I don’t care if you come from Heaven or Hell, if you suck, you will get boo’d. When Edwards has sucked, he has been boo’d. What a dolt.

seriously…this is absolutely pathetic. talk about a study in rationalization and self-denial. bud shaw (whom i usually don’t like) made a great point today: if you drop 16 passes but catch 16 TDs, you’re a hero; if you make up for 16 drops by catching 3 td’s, you get boo’ed. very simple math.

SOLUTION

I got the solution for you Edwards.. Stop dropping passes.. we’ll stop booing you!!
WOW.. What a tool!! I loved this guy and defended him all season.. “bad year” and “he’ll snap out of it” Then this… GROW UP ALREADY!
If you catch what is thrown to you they won’t care if your from MARS!!! Just do your freaking job..

I’d say that he has a point. Fans were on him from the start that he’d better live up to the pick to overcome being from Michigan. I had a friend that last year, as Braylon was having one of the better years of any Browns WR in franchise history, said that he’d trade him because he’s from Michigan.

I sometimes wonder what all I missed out on, not being part of that rivalry. Then I see the pettiness that comes with it and the juvenile behaviors associated with it and I am relieved.

I get that Braylon has had a poor year this year. His focus hasn’t been where its needed to be. But, part of the fans booing him is because he’s from UM. The majority is the drops, but it is intensified because of the UM association, IMO. I don’t like him whining about it, but he is, at least partially, correct.

Did anyone boo him last season? Did anyone spit on him when he jumped in the Dawg Pound after a touchdown?

I read an article from ESPN this offseason on how Braylon was trying to become the “King of Cleveland,” and claim that title from LeBron. The superlatives were amazing in there. He believed Cleveland fans were embracing him at that point. What changed?

His horrendous season has caused him to lash out and look for an excuse. Him being from TSUN just sweetens the deal as I can now crack the whip on any UM fan I know. “Your alumni use your university as an excuse.”

I went to OSU, was a part of that rivalry and still am.

But once a guy is done at michigan, I completely forget about it. I love having Braylon as a Cleveland Brown and I don’t want him to go anywhere.

He is probably right that some people don’t like him because he is from michigan, but thats just a few jerks out of millions of Browns fans.

Braylon needs to realize that there will always be someone out there that hates him with a passion. In every city, on whatever team he happens to be on. He also should realize that more people are going to like him than hate him as long as he keeps being a philanthropist and/or a great football player (who isn’t a headcase in the vein of Pacman Jones).

Does this further the T.O./Braylon comparison?

Braylon Edwards, WR

Braylon Edwards is the browns most dangerous weapon, in my opinion …

"My first and foremost goal is to win a Super Bowl. I also set goals in terms of having a type of year to make the Pro Bowl. If I'm going to the Pro Bowl, I know I'm making plays for the team." Brian Dawkins

This probably seals Savage’s fate.

i know the general sentiment about PFT around here, but i didn’t realize the totality of edwards’ comments until i saw this story there…not a rumor, just a more comprehensive reporting of the actual quotes.

to me, this is irreparable. maybe that’s a little too emotional, but this is beyond absurd. say what you will about winslow, but at least he was smart enough to take out savage only…edwards goes after the city and the entire fan base? are you kidding me? enjoy detroit, braylon. it really is paradise up there.

if ever there was a thought of moving winslow, let’s keep him (at least he tries and cares) and ship edwards out for a 1 and 3. i’m not interested in a receiver who doesn’t make catches when it counts, and won’t talk to the media when he’s dropping the ball, but spouts off after a single good game.
