depressing.... pathetic.... embarrassing
How do you give up 191 yards rushing to a 2 win team in 40 MPH winds.....
Everyone knew they were going to run and yet no adjustments are made.
All this talk about the Lions being the record setting worst team in Football...
Cleveland is a close 2nd. No offensive TD's in how many quarters???
Cowher will not come to this miserable team. He is not that stupid.
Bring on another coordinator who thinks he can coach in the NFL............
Someone should have thrown the dumbbell at Mel Tucker instead of Quinn... Maybe that way we could have had someone else calling the defensive sets..

No coach has ever won a Super Bowl with two different teams. I doubt Cowher is the one to change that trend.
To quote Grossi, “Of the last 14 winning Super Bowl coaches, 11 were former coordinators.”
This anti-coordinator stuff is the heighth of ignorance.
My apologies
My apologies for not expressing my opinion fully……
Of course it the new coach will be a coordinator or a former coordinator you idiot…
I meant I do not want a 1st time coach.
Cleveland needs some HEAD COACHING experience!
Was that clear enough for you Mr Ignorant?
Seriously, were the personal attacks really necessary? Take that stuff somewhere else, please.

It is true that the Browns have not hired a guy with head coaching experience
Since 1971, that being Nick Skorich. But consider that the Steelers have not hired a guy with head coaching experience since 1958. There is no preferred model, just preferred people.
Thoughtful discussion with a sense of history
Because people get tired of losing and like to post ignorant rants blaming everyone in the organization, whining about how this is the worst team in football (even though it’s clearly not — we were competative when we had a real QB playing), stating that nobody on the team cares or wants to win (as if they know), and other nonsense. I guess it makes them feel better to post these nonsensical rants. Listen, I’m as frustrated as everyone else, but can we please stick to intelligent discusssions about the team and what can be done to improve the team for next year? I’m sorry, but I’m tired of posts like this on this site which do nothing to add to the discussion about how to help the team. Take these irrelevant and illogical rants to cleveland.com.

I guess the reason for the rants is no one in this organization, at least from the outside looking in, appears to give a shit. I mean that performance yesterday, and I don’t care with a 3rd string QB ( Fitzgerald would be a 4th string QB on the Browns) was just horrible. This team has laid down since week 4.
This team has quit, the coaching has been horrible and Lerner is no where to be found. And I am tired of the injury excuse, EVERY football team deals with them. Pats lose Brady and Maroney and guess what they will win 11 games. Paker and Mendenall have been banged up, Steelers keep winning. Indy has been beat up, and they keep winning.
This team has not heart and no balls, hows that.
"Have You heard of the Boom on Mizar 5?"
It really, really bothers me when fans assume that just because a team is losing that the players don’t care, don’t have a heart, etc. You have NO IDEA what is going on in every Browns player’s head, how hard they are practicing, or how much they want to win. Just because they’re not successful doesn’t mean that they’re not trying. I absolutely hate when fans make these blanket accusations which they cannot back up.
You really think the team has laid down since week 4? Really, what’s your proof? They have won a few games since then and have been competative in many of them. You think they blew two big second-half leads because they didn’t care? I know most fans think they care more than the players, but I doubt that is true. You have no idea how hard the players work all week; I know that I don’t.
The past few weeks they’ve looked horrible, but they have been playing with a QB who shouldn’t be in the NFL. Sure, every team has injuries, but we’ve lost TWO starting quarterbacks. Not many teams who do that can be competative. At least with Brady and DA we were usually in the game. Dorsey has shown that he shouldn’t be starting in the NFL, and that’s the main problem with the offense. The defense has played well most of the time the past month with Dorsey, so if we had even a decent QB we might have won a few more games.
But I ask you and everyone else — please, stop presuming you know things about the players that you cannot know. Stop saying they don’t care, stop saying they’re not trying, stop saying they should all be cut because they’re all horrible. This job is their LIVES — you don’t think they care? Stop being ignorant.

So this team who came into July with all the press clilppings, all the prime time games on the schedule and the feel good pick by many in the media ( except Keyshon Johnson ), then precedes to lose all of there preseason games, yet no one was alarmed in the “Browns camp” ( I was ), Then look absoultely over matched against the Dallas, play tough against the Steelers and then get beat up against the Ravens. So they sit at 0-3, two division games as losses. Then the tough part of the schedule is yet to played.
Do I have proof, hell no, that this team gave up. But to have a football team get called out by Lewis and Cribbs for not putting effort forward, you have to believe there were and is players that did not put out 100% . Then as reported today Shaun Smith ( the 2 sacks in 6 years player) had an altercation with Quinn ( which was NOT denied by Crennel)
Why is it the Browns can’t score a offensive TD in 5 freaking games? I am tired of this Dorsey BS. Ryan Fitzgerald for goodness sake, Senca Wallace, please. Seahawks bust there ass and beat the Jets with 5 offensive lineman who are not starters, Bills go into Denver with nothing to play for and beat Denver, Oakland beat a decent Houston team. And the Browns last home game of the year and do not even show up. Benson has a career game, there QB throws the ball NINE times and the “D” can’t stop them even though the whole half full stadium knows they are running the ball.
FIVE games without an offensive TD, sure, this team is really busting there ass.
"Have You heard of the Boom on Mizar 5?"
Good, another ill-informed rant. That’s the panacea here. This team loses because it is not very good. Lewis whines about his teammates and then sucks at every given opportunity. Question the coaching, the play calling, the personnel packages, your English teacher, and whatever else you like but you have no right to question the mental status of 53 people you don’t know. The Browns are a bad team, that’s why they don’t win.

My biggest question I’d like answered regarding this team is why, year after year, do we routinely lead the NFL in games lost to injury?
Do we have a sub par strength and conditioning coach?
A poor medical staff?
Are we just star crossed and unlucky?
Do we pick injury prone players?
The coaching staff, poor play and lack of effort play a role in our failures this year but Injuries have just gutted us again this year. While I think better coaching would have gotten us wins in a few of our early and mid season games (Denver and Washington immediately come to mind) this team would have faded late regardless of who coached the team. Paul Brown would not have been able to get this team into the post season with all of our injuries.
Is there anything we can do or is it just good old fashioned Cleveland shitty luck?
I take issue with the “Cowher will not come to this miserable team. He is not that stupid” comment.
This team is widely recognized as having significant talent. We suffered some injuries to key players, and other key players had setbacks that can either be corrected through strong coaching (Braylon) or have demonstrated that these players are not to be depended upon (DA). I think this is exactly the kind of team a Cowher or Marty would want to coach. Good but not great talent, 3-4 defense, in desperate need of strong leadership. A talented team that can win a lot of games under the right regime. A situation to come in and A) be able to compete, B) have the opportunity to be given almost sole credit for righting the ship, and C) have the built in excuse that “this was a 4 win team when I took over and there was just too much wrong to fix right away” excuse if things don’t turn out well.
Exactly right. Add a new coaching staff with a new attitude along with a few good draft picks and a couple free agent signings and this can be a competative team next year. Anyone who doesn’t think so is not following the NFL. Look at how bad the Dolphins, Falcons, and Ravens were last year. Now all those teams are either in the playoffs or can get in with a win. And Miami was 1-15!! We aren’t that bad, so we can be competative next year with the right moves. Unfortunately we have tough teams in our division; Pittsburgh is always great and Baltimore looks like it has found a good QB and some young RB’s so they should be good again. But it’s the NFL so you never know; so much of it depends on luck (schedule and injuries).

If you call people out on here for “assuming things” like thinking the team is not good or that they “laid” down since week 4 then maybe you should zip it with your comments about the Browns being competitive next year.
How do you know that? Are you in each of thier heads? How can you be certain they will play competitive?
So to clear this up – We are NOT posting ignorant rants. We want our team to win and compete. 2 things they are CLEARLY are NOT doing. Why not point the finger at the coaching staff? The players are the ones playing but if you say we have the players we need to win then it must be the coaching.
You can say and beleive what you want, but when EVERY NFL commentator for CBS makes remark after remark to the tune of WHAT ARE THE BROWNS DOING ON DEFENSE? I think that is embarrassing and speaks volumes about how far away we really are from a winning team.
2007 was a fluke. Just like the 05 Bengals. Minimal injuries, a weak schedule and not turning the ball over will win games.
2008 was a disaster and we were all shown the REAL BROWNS.
An offense with DA, Quinn or Dorsey who CANNOT move the ball against solid defenses, a RB who is old and cannot run against good defenses, and of course a Defense who plays 15 yards off every WR and NEVER BLITZES.
2009 will be much of the same…. Do I know that?? That must be an ignorant rant…
This is a fanpost board for FANS to post thier questions, concerns and thoughts about the team.
That is what we have done, so take your personal critisism elsewhere….
Are you joking?
If you call people out on here for "assuming things" like thinking the team is not good or that they "laid" down since week 4 then maybe you should zip it with your comments about the Browns being competitive next year.

He said the team “CAN BE” competitive. That is not an absolute…
EVERY NFL commentator for CBS makes remark after remark to the tune of WHAT ARE THE BROWNS DOING ON DEFENSE?
If you take the opinions of CBS commentators as anything other than filler for morons, then you’re probably going to be prone to the occasional “ignorant rant”. These are the same commentators that will fawn over a Miami team that just last year they were treating eerily similar to the Browns of late 2008. They make obvious comments, but rarely delve into any real depth (largely because they’re incapable of doing so). For analysts who actually do go into depth, their comments might read a lot like those you’re reading here that aren’t in the chicken little camp.
2008 was a disaster and we were all shown the REAL BROWNS.
Watch out for that sky, it could land right on you.
This is a fanpost board for FANS to post thier questions, concerns and thoughts about the team.
Out of curiosity, what exactly are you attempting to imply with the emphasis on fan? Do you think Brad is a front office double agent, or just not a real fan because he doesn’t think the Browns have to suck next year?
or just not a real fan because he doesn’t think the Browns have to suck next year?
That seems to be the general idea in Cleveland these days. You’re just an idiot if you think the Browns/Indians won’t suck forever and that LeBron won’t leave for New York. That fan then drifts here and posts the occasional ignorant rant and then chastises us for not leaping off the cliff with him.
Yeah, that’s whay pisses me off. I know Cleveland hasn’t won a championship in many decades, but that doesn’t mean we’ll never win. I hate the “all our players/coaches/management sucks” attitude that too many Cleveland fans have. We try to have thoughtful discussions about how to improve the Browns, and whining constantly about everything doesn’t help.
Someone on here even posted that all the Cleveland sports management sucks. Really? The Indians won 90+ games 2 of the past 4 years and came within one game of going to (and winning) the WS a year ago. Shapiro is widely regarded as one of the best GM’s, Huntington got hired a year ago as GM of Pittsburgh and Antonetti is mentioned for every GM opening. But, yeat, that management sucks. And the Cavs have made some great trades to bring quality players alongside LeBron, which has led to them being one of the best 3 teams in the NBA this year. But they suck, too.
If you want to post ignorant, negative rants that have no basis in facts, please take that stuff to cleveland.com. You’ll get a lot of company there. If you post thoughtful, well-reasoned comments based in reality, we will welcome those and discuss them.

Reality is 4-12 and a team that is a mess. I am not talking last year, I am not talking next year, I am talking right now. Is that absoulte enough?
When you have commentators who have played football ( Jaws and Jackson) make comments on how the Browns are lacking effort, ie: not playing hard, I take there opinion factfully since they have played the game.
You guys get on my ass because I rant, fine. What makes your opinion that much more valued then mine? I try to bring in my rant facts and obersavtion.
We all differ on how we express ourselves with this team, some with more emotion than others, that is the human spirit. I have been rooting for this team since the 60’s ( hell I was called out for that, mentioning how long I have been a fan) And this crap gets old. When this team dropped there first 3 games of the season, I knew, In my opinion that the season was lost, and in MY opinion the team was beat also.
Merry Christmas to all, and may the Browns in 2009 make us all proud and less angry.
"Have You heard of the Boom on Mizar 5?"
I never said, or implied, that my opinion was more valuable than yours or anyone else’s. But it’s all about how you present your opinion. If you present your opinion with reasoning and facts to support yourself, I will respect that even if I may not agree with it. I think most people here would take the same approach.
What I don’t like is people who stop by just to post random musings about how bad this team is (such as this FanPost). What is this post trying to accomplish, other than to denegrate our team? I understand the frustration; I feel the same way myself. But if you’re going to criticize our team, give reasons and then suggestions how to change (other than get rid of everybody). That’s what most people here try to do.
Now, I’m not accusing you of doing these things. Your posts are usually more reasoned and thoughtful than this. The only thing I took issue with in your comments was your assertion that the players quit and don’t care. I hear that from many people (not just you), and as I said I really hate when people make assertions which they cannot possibly know. Fans don’t realize how hard the playes work all week long to prepare for the game, yet when they lose many fans just think the players need to try harder and they’ll win. I’m pretty sure most players are busting their ass on every play because they’re fighting for their jobs. If a team loses, it’s usually because of lack of talent or bad coaching, not lack of heart.
Also, just because announcers give their opinion and they happen to be former players doesn’t make it a fact. How do those guys know the Browns players have quit? Do they watch practice and film session during the week? Are they in the locker room with the players? No; they’re just talking, like they’re paid to do. I respect Jaws a lot and think he’s an excellent football commentator, but he cannot possibly know what’s going in the Browns’ players heads any more than you or I. So let’s please stop with the “players don’t care and don’t try hard enough” crap. Have we heard any comments by any Browns players about this? Other than two guys after one game, no. So let’s talk about things we know.
