K. Wright???

So when are we going to get some answers about the Kenny Wright situation?  After the draft?  After we seal up final contracts with our rookies (before OTAs)?

By now, the Browns are clear as to what happened with the arrest and I feel as if it wouldn't have taken much to make a decision on this relatively mediocre player, no matter how thin the Browns are in the secondary.

Come on Phil, I want the Browns to develop a stronger reputation (not that we have a bad one) for not tolerating high school behavior.

While I certainly wouldn’t mind the zero tolerance rule here (alas Frank Thomas the other day in baseball), there’s no specific reason to make a decision now IMO.

We can evaluate what we have after the draft, and through free agent pickups. I think that if we are in real trouble after a couple of camp dates at the cornerback position, Savage and company may feel content with keeping Wright as long as he has good behavior here on out. Granted, I don’t think keeping Wright would help us by any means either way, but I trust that however Savage and company deal with the situation will be with the team’s and fans’ best interest in mind.

I am willing to bet that if they get someone that they feel is on the same level with Wright, they will cut him ASAP. If they don’t, they won’t.

Didn't the Browns say...

...something about letting the legal process play out and then taking appropriate action?

I mean Leigh Bodden “drove the wrong way in a one way zone” but really was just backing up to park his car. He was a guy who was profiled and ended up being innocent.

I’m not saying K. Wright is innocent, but the Browns should let all of this stuff play out regardless of the alleged criminal’s talent level.

If he in fact could not outrun some fat 40+ year old cops, we should cut him just for being slow, however. And we should look in to signing those cops as FAs.
