Longtime star safety John Lynch is leaving the Denver Broncos

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/trainingcamp08/news/story?id=3511880

Would it be a good idea to try to get Lynch for one or two seasons? we need some help in the secondary. Phil savage would be wise to at least throw some numbers in his direction. We got a steal in mcdonald, wright is pretty good, but past that we NEED some experience in pass defense. This is an opportunity, and seeing as how some believe this year has the capabilities for a deep playoff run, i think we should make a run for him.

depth is a problem at cornerback, not safety. I doubt Lynch could even provide reasonable support in a dime package.

You know Selig? Ombudsman.

what is our depth at safety?

Yeah, the depth is minimal. We’ll be needing a young prospect behind Jones and Pool next year.

No thanks

Unless you hate Brodney Pool I’d say steer clear of Lynch.

Not unless he wants to compete w/ Adams for the third safety, which he doesn’t.

He’ provide depth and veteran leadership to the secondary, but he’d have to be willing to accept a role as a reserve. Could be interesting

The reason he is leaving Denver is that they wanted him to be the third safety, not starting anymore and he wasn’t ready to accept being a role player.
