James Lee Signed by Buccaneers

I guess James Lee was too good to slip through to the practice squad after all. The rookie offensive tackle was signed to the 53-man roster of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers today:

The Bucs claimed offensive lineman James Lee off waivers, adding the rookie free agent from South Carolina State to augment a thin offensive line. Lee, who was waived Saturday by the Browns, is said to be capable of playing guard but is being viewed as a tackle by the Bucs.

The Buccaneers had waived veteran defensive back Eugene Wilson to make room for Lee. Knowing that another team would've signed him, you have to wonder if Phil Savage regrets keeping Isaac Sowells over Lee now.

Many teams have announced members of the practice squad today, but as of this posting, the Browns are not one of them.

Called this one. He got too much attention early in camp to sneak through.
