Question from a Chiefs fan.
If you haven't noticed the Chiefs are struggling at the qb position. We have Croyle, Huard, and Thigpen on the roster. We recently signed Ingle Martin from the Titans practice squad and we are trying out a Cowboys scrub today(Richard Bartel). My question to you is: What type of offer would it take for the Chiefs to trade for Brady Quinn? A 2nd or 3rd round pick? A pick and a member of our secondary(Surtain or Page). I'm just trying to figure out how hard it would be to make a deal for him. Thanks and as a Mizzou fan you guys have a stud in Martin Rucker!

I think the best bet of getting a QB from us would actually be for Anderson to struggle some this year and Savage to decide that Quinn is the future and trade Anderson. Savage almost certainly would target a 1st round pick in my opinion. A younger (not Surtain) secondary member and a 2nd round pick might also work.
Just wanted to add that I too am a huge Mizzou fan, and was delighted when the Browns drafted Rucker

I agree with Dorn’s sentiments… there was no reason to get injured diving for that ball when free agency is right around the corner. The other stuff sounded correct as well.
On Quinn, we’re only likely to trade him this offseason IF DA performs very well AND he demands a trade. In that scenario I believe Savage would target a first round pick as well. He may include a lower pick as compensation if we were trading for a top pick. It seems more likely, though, now that we have some players worth paying, that he’d want to maintain cap flexibility down the road by acquiring a high second and high third, which KC may be in position to offer.
We’re very unlikely to trade him during the 08 season. Savage would have to be blown away by a trade offer to trade the security Quinn offers.
Finally, all these trade scenarios seem far less likely than the Chiefs simply biting the bullet and using what’s likely to be a top 5 pick on the QB of the future.

I really think it would depend on where the Chiefs’ pick ends up. A top 5 pick sounds like more than we could hope for, but an early second-rounder seems too little. I think he would consider giving the Chiefs a pick and a QB for a top 5 or top 10 pick, or maybe (as was discussed above) a QB for an early second rounder, a DB, and maybe a late-round pick.
I wouldn’t automatically assume that we are going to trade Quinn, either. His contract pays him like a backup if he plays like a backup, so we aren’t really looking to unload him for nothing. If DA doesn’t look better than he did week 1, we aren’t looking to unload Brady at all.

I guess it's just a matter of time before Brady takes over the reigns in Cleveland.
Why did you guys have to trade up in front of us to draft him? Good luck with your season, the Browns have always been one of my fav teams, way after the Chiefs of course.
