Browns Stadium History
Hey all! For my ENG 111 course, I was asked to write an ethnography on any place of my choosing, so, of course, I chose the Cleveland Browns Stadium! It's going to be on the history, the team, the fans, the very essence of the Browns. I was hoping if anyone had any stories, random info., or anything you think I should just put in there you'd let me know. Thanks! Go Browns!!

I think you should do it on Municipal Stadium, much more history there….all we have in CBS is 1 playoff appearance and a large amount of disappointment. At least with Municipal you get 10 cent beer night against the rangers, the drive, the fumble, red right 88, Antonio Langham’s ridiculously long neck, poles in front of your seat, winning seasons here and there, the Indians dark ages, Eric Zeier, etc. etc. etc.
CBS is way to young to write a paper on, Municipal Stadium makes you cry on your keyboard as you write.

if celoise is a college freshman as i presume, celoise’s question may be “what’s Municipal Stadium”?
which makes me feel like a very, very ancient 28 year-old.

Yeah, I’m 29 and remember Municipal Stadium very well. I went to many Indians games there but never a Browns game.

during my early grade school years, i always had a “dentist’s appointment:” every year in early april, and my Dad always took me to it. Once it snowed, and usually it was somewhat painful to sit through.
The only Browns game at Municipal I attended was the Packers game during the last year, after the move was announced. We were in the endzone opposite the dawg pound, and I was just happy to say i went to a game there, although the mood/atmosphere couldn’t have been 1/10 of what it was in the better years.

that’s the difference between being 3 years old and 7 years old… i have much fewer memories, if any, at the age of 3 compared to 7.

I am a freshman college student but I also what the Municpal Stadium was. I considered doing my paper on that instead but it has to be somewhere we’ve actually been. unfortunately I didn’t get the chance to go there.
