Season Predictions
One guys crazy full season predictions
AFC East: New England 13-3, Buffalo 8-8, NY Jets 8-8, Miami 3-13
AFC North: Pittsburgh 9-7, Cleveland 9-7, Baltimore 8-8, Cincinnati 5-11
AFC South: Jacksonville 13-3, Indianapolis 12-4, Houston 9-7, Tennessee 4-12
AFC West: San Diego 12-4, Denver 9-7, Oakland 3-13, Kansas City 2-14
NFC East: Philadelphia 12-4, Dallas 10-6, NY Giants 8-8, Washington 5-11
NFC North: Minnesota 11-5, Green Bay 9-7, Chicago 5-11, Detroit 4-12
NFC South: Tampa Bay 12-4, New Orleans 12-4, Carolina 8-8, Atlanta 3-13
NFC West: Seattle 11-5, Arizona 10-6, St Louis 4-12, San Francisco 2-14
Based on those records, it would be 9-7 wild Card at SD and Indianapolis at AFC North winner (with all the 9-7 teams, it comes down to tiebreakers) in first round. I'll take SD and Colts to move on to face New England and Jacksonville
In the NFC, it would be TB/NO at Seattle and AZ/Dallas at Minnesota, with TB/NO and Minnesota moving on to face NO/TB and Philly.
I'll say Jacksonville over New Orleans

I think all the records above total out correctly. I actually went through each and every game picking winners and losers. Unless I screwed up my counting a teams wins, it should work out correct.
Of course I probably will only come close to 25% of the teams actual records due to injuries, ineffectiveness, eyc. But am hoping am better than usual.

Ramdom predictions……
We win the division over Pittsburgh by virtue of the 4th tie breaker, conference record. Our schedule is rough, the Steeler’s is simply brutal
Mike Nolen is the 1st coach to get the axe
Matt Millen inexplicably survives yet another year, despite Detroit going 6-10
Pac Man gets in trouble at a strip club yet again
Ricky Williams doesn’t get in trouble and runs for 1,300 yards
Big Ben is under pressure all year and misses at least 3 games due to injury. Without super-sub Charlie Batch, Pitt loses all three of these games, costing them the Division and the playoffs.
Despite being written off every year, Tampa Bay and Seattle are solid and steady and repeat as division champs.
Oakland is the most improved team in the league and will flirt with a .500 record.
Miami is runner up for the most improved team
Green Bay has the biggest let down and falls to 8-8. Rodgers won’t stay healthy. Tennessee is runner up and falls to 7-9. Vince Young bust talk heats up.
AFC South is by far the best division in the NFL.
Favre has his moments but the Jets miss the playoffs at 8-8.

"Despite being written off every year, Tampa Bay and Seattle are solid and steady and repeat as division champs."
I don’t think they are written off every year. Last year, people wrote off Tampa, yes, absolutely.
Seattle wins the division because they can at least split the series with Arizona, and consistently beat the 49ers and the Rams as of late. Teams like the Rams and Cards have risen and fallen, but Seattle always seems to have enough crappy teams in their division to be able to get in to the playoffs.
Even though they seem to always at least be in the playoff race, I don’t think Seattle is all that great of a team. When they played us last year I felt we were going to win the game unless we really had a terrible game. They don’t scare anyone like the Patriots or Colts do because they aren’t as scary-good.

Wow.
Ballsy call of the Colts, Pats, Chargers, and Jags being the last four in the AFC.
Is Adrian Peterson hurt before or during Minnesota’s playoff win? Who will be quarterbacking them at the time? Because Jackson isn’t winning a playoff game. Even in the NFC.
In a non-sarcastic section: Does Baltimore actually win 8 games starting Joe Flacco, or does Troy Smith get a chance? I do enjoy that you picked teams such as the Eagles, the Cardinals, and the Cowboys to finish significantly different than last year. Having the Cowboys not make the playoffs does actually take some guts…
Which leads me to the following double-standard/question: the Eagles? 12-4? Really?

I didn’t say I was going to be right. I just went through each schedule and picked the games. I picked a lot of home wins, and a few upsets sprinkled here and there.
Like I said above, I probably am going to be way off. I finished my picking late last nite, so I didn’t get to adjust individual games here and there. This was basically a first pass through guestimate.
More of a fun discussion topic I guess.
As for the AFC, sorry, but I think those 4 teams are the cream of the crop. It will take some injuries to bring them down to the pack. The schedule is just too nasty for us and Pitt, and I think the West is weak.
Baltimore will struggle, but their D usually keeps them in it enough to win, they could slide down a few games of course. I just think McNabb and Westbrook are going to have a fantastic year …. probably their last hurrah though.

Absolutely a fun topic of discussion. Even the people whose job it is to predict this sort of thing can’t do it with 100% accuracy. Please do take my comments lightly, I am not meaning to belittle anyone.
The Colts, Pats, and Chargers definitely have 3 of the most talented rosters top to bottom in the league. The Jags were the most physical team in football last year.
To me, the Colts, Chargers, and Pats all have injury worries, and I just think it’s really rare to see the 4 teams that everyone thinks are the best end up as the last 4 in the playoffs.
If Peyton Manning can’t go or doesn’t heal to 100% or gets hurt again, Indy is not the same team. Same with NE and Brady. It would only take one hit to dramatically change either teams’ season. Merriman is trying to play on a significantly torn-up knee, which is really really dumb. It wouldn’t even take a hit to lose him for the season and possibly his career. Does SD have a guy behind him who is probably still a beast? Yes. But he is a game-changer at a premium position. Big injury question marks.
I also feel like McNabb and/or Westbrook get hurt every year (except last year). If they stay healthy the Eagles could wind up being a great team like you predicted. Are their contracts up?

Oh of course injuries would change any of those predictions tremendously. But I am not going to try and guess, my assumption is that Manning, Brady, McNabb are all healthy enough. Merriman I am not too concerned about, their D is fantastic with him, just slightly less when he is gone.
As for McNabb and Westbrook’s deals, I have no idea, I just feel they are both getting up in age and this could be their last excellent year as a tandem.
