Time to officially put the water bottle fine falsehood to rest. Charlie Casserly's information was correct.

Second, Coye Francies never threw a punch.

Wait, you mean the media reported something as fact even though it didn’t quite happen that way?

Yes, and even further I was criticized in another thread for questioning the media’s intent.

I’m the one that criticized you, and I stand by it. You cherry-picked which media source to believe because you wanted one of them to be true. Regardless of the result, that’s a poor way to make decisions.

I’m also not dismissing the story because Abe Elam wrote “I wasn’t fined” on his blog.

If we’re not to cherry pick media sources, and obviously have conflicting points of view in the existing reporting, would you agree that we have very little idea what really happened in either case? Because that’s my take.

I cherry-picked the media source because I believe that one side has reason to publish any rumor they hear and the other doesn’t. Not only does Elam dismiss it, he calls it “ridiculous” to even believe it. As if to say, I can’t believe someone believed this happened.

Hard to believe, isn’t it.

DBN is on Elam’s blogroll. I guess the claim that no one from the team reads this site is false.

Chris did conduct that interview with Elam before the season, I am wondering if that prompted him to add us and if he actually reads the site at all.

I forgot about that interview.

Maybe if the Browns were winning he would read DBN. As is, I doubt it. Nothing quite as fun as being told you suck by random people on the internet.

Thanks for posting this and finally putting that bogus story to bed.
