How terrible must it be to be a Titans fan? They were expected to be a playoff team and they’re about to be 0-4. They’re getting killed by the Jags today.

This one was lost in the fourth quarter.

by e.c. matter on Oct 4, 2009 4:55 PM EDT reply actions

Much better effort, but I wanted a W. We had plenty of chances to win.

by Buckeye Brad on Oct 4, 2009 4:56 PM EDT reply actions

The key word in that statement is “plenty.”

That’s a FAIL in my book.

You can’t call this a fail after how terrible we looked in the first three weeks. We played much better, both offensively and defensively, and that has to be recognized.

by Buckeye Brad on Oct 4, 2009 4:59 PM EDT up reply actions

You said it yourself “we had plenty of chances to win.”

The end result MUST be a W, but since that didn’t happen it’s a FAIL.

A Win is all that matters.

rec for Brad

Fooootball has been beary beary good to me.

by doggrad87 on Oct 4, 2009 5:50 PM EDT up reply actions

We improved, yet still failed to get the victory, after having plenty of shots at it.

Can we take away some positives? Sure, and we’ll have to continue to get better.
Did we still fail? Yes.

They played well against a very good Bengals team… the Bills are going to be in trouble next…we WONT be denied next week !!

See Ya’ll next week… at least they played real football this week…

by Jamals6082 on Oct 4, 2009 5:02 PM EDT reply actions

I can’t help but wonder where this team might be had the QB situation not have been botched this badly. Though, had we started DA from the beginning, we’d have a lot of people crying “Quinn.”

by Simmsinns on Oct 4, 2009 5:03 PM EDT reply actions

D.A. did a good job… we shall see if he continues to improve..

by Jamals6082 on Oct 4, 2009 5:05 PM EDT up reply actions

I think this game shows that DA should be the QB for the rest of the season. Looks like Quinn’s time with the Browns is done, barring an injury.

by Buckeye Brad on Oct 4, 2009 5:05 PM EDT up reply actions

Yeah there’s a lot of chaff still to be sorted, like the QB situation. I wouldn’t have picked it thjis way but thet is the road we’re going to have to take. Quinn has to go- and I bet he’ll do well elsewhere- but he has to go.

No worries, I figured anyone who made a comment similar to yours was just joshing a little bit. I was just clarifying the intended meaning of the word “Victory” being in the thread, in case it was left open to interpretation.

Well, at least we moved the ball. Drops and a complete lack of offensive creativity in the last two periods killed us. We needed to stay aggressive and we didn’t. This one is on Daboll.

And I’m feeling pretty good about being a DA backer right now.

by Brad D on Oct 4, 2009 5:15 PM EDT reply actions

think its tough being a D.A. backer ??? try beliving Jamal has some left in him..lol

by Jamals6082 on Oct 4, 2009 5:17 PM EDT up reply actions

Yeah, you’re looking pretty smart right now.

And I don’t think the play-calling was that bad the last two periods. We tried some different things, it was just bad execution. They took a shot deep in OT for MoMass but the defense made a nice play. What would you have liked to seen different?

by Buckeye Brad on Oct 4, 2009 5:20 PM EDT up reply actions

I think we got too conservative late in the game and started playing not to lose. DA’s big strength is his arm, I really think that a couple more shots deep off of play action would have been beneficial. As we neared the end we started going with a sequence that seemed to go: off tackle run, intermediate pass, intermediate pass is incomplete on second, draw if complete on second. I could be wrong there, but that’s what I perceived.

Edwards being double covered all day didn’t help either.

Too bad, Massoquai and Harrison played tough today, so did the Defense. Our offense, as usual, failed…you just can’t give a better football team with a better QB that many tries in overtime.

I even thought we had a Courtney Bro—er, Kamerion Wimbley sighting today.
