How terrible must it be to be a Titans fan? They were expected to be a playoff team and they’re about to be 0-4. They’re getting killed by the Jags today.
Yeah, it’s sad.

That means they will be turning to Vince Young soon and that can be dangerous.

How crazy is it the Harrison and Massaquoi are our leading rusher and receiver today. I’ve been saying this a lot, but Mangini just needs to play the younger guys more and good things will happen.

Nice pile push by Harrison and the o-line.

I think having a gunslinger at QB helps because the defense plays on their heels more.

So with younger guys stepping up and performing today (Mack, Massa, Harrison), does that mean we might see other younger guys (Veikune, Robiskie, Maiava, Hall) more in coming games?

Josh Cribbs has to be one of the most electric players in football. Everytime he returns the ball ESPN should cut in to show it.

they had a big opportunity to close it out starting at the 10 yard line.
it was really fun talking to you guys! maybe next week :/
The key word in that statement is “plenty.”
That’s a FAIL in my book.
http://dawgscooper.blogspot.com/
Dawg Scooper: An Unofficial Cleveland Browns Source
You can’t call this a fail after how terrible we looked in the first three weeks. We played much better, both offensively and defensively, and that has to be recognized.
You said it yourself “we had plenty of chances to win.”
The end result MUST be a W, but since that didn’t happen it’s a FAIL.
A Win is all that matters.
http://dawgscooper.blogspot.com/
Dawg Scooper: An Unofficial Cleveland Browns Source
No, wins aren’t all that matters. We aren’t making the playoffs this year. It’s important to show improvement every game.
Coming in to this game we were the laughstock of the league. We showed that we can compete and our offense actually moved the ball. That’s a success in my book, compared to what we were saying all week. Our players haven’t quite on their coach, despite what some people were saying.

I agree with you here on all accounts.
by DisplacedBuckeye on Oct 4, 2009 5:08 PM EDT up reply actions
We improved, yet still failed to get the victory, after having plenty of shots at it.
Can we take away some positives? Sure, and we’ll have to continue to get better.
Did we still fail? Yes.
I can’t help but wonder where this team might be had the QB situation not have been botched this badly. Though, had we started DA from the beginning, we’d have a lot of people crying “Quinn.”
Victory Thread my ass Chris. THX!!!!
If you're at the table and you don't see a sucker..... you're it.

Dawgs By Nature - Covering the Cleveland Browns on SB Nation.
by Chris Pokorny on Oct 5, 2009 12:29 AM EDT up reply actions
Well, at least we moved the ball. Drops and a complete lack of offensive creativity in the last two periods killed us. We needed to stay aggressive and we didn’t. This one is on Daboll.
And I’m feeling pretty good about being a DA backer right now.
Yeah, you’re looking pretty smart right now.
And I don’t think the play-calling was that bad the last two periods. We tried some different things, it was just bad execution. They took a shot deep in OT for MoMass but the defense made a nice play. What would you have liked to seen different?
I think we got too conservative late in the game and started playing not to lose. DA’s big strength is his arm, I really think that a couple more shots deep off of play action would have been beneficial. As we neared the end we started going with a sequence that seemed to go: off tackle run, intermediate pass, intermediate pass is incomplete on second, draw if complete on second. I could be wrong there, but that’s what I perceived.
Edwards being double covered all day didn’t help either.
Post-game discussion thread can be continued here.
