Jaws says Browns offense so bad that QB doesn't matter
This is a good analysis by Jaworski - one of the better explanations I've seen of what is actually going on.

The biggest thing for me is to get an explosive running back. Our running backs as are currently, severely limit our offensive capabilities.

Agree. Lewis is done, and Harison is an average to sub-par #2.

I thought Jaws’ point that everyone squeezes the middle on the Browns due to their lack of an outside threat was right on the money. It explains why it’s tough to find running lanes, tough for the tight ends to find any space, tough to do anything over the middle. Also, his point about the QBs having to constantly throw through very tight windows due to the receivers’ lack of ability to get separation is absolutely solid.

Another topic was a running game in the NFL. Jaws said that you need to be able to pass more in this league then run. It is hard to start from your 20 and march down the field just running. You need to throw for more than 3 yrds.

Wave some draft picks towards the Seahawks for Owen Schmitt, and the Jaguars for Brock Bolen. They´re two behemoths on skates to get the Ground Hounds going.

You have to have some speed on offense, not just power. You have to be able to take it outside to string out the defense and make them respect that outside threat. That is why I’d like to see the Browns at least take a look at Spiller. Jaws makes a lot of good points… same as the ones Gruden made which is interesting.

You can play football fast or slow. The key word here is lead blocking.
The single back is history.

Jaws is dead on. This team has no one that can get separation. I can’t recall a team this bad on offense. Even the 1999 team was better than this.
This is about coaching and the Browns have none of it. Couch threw for 15 TD’s in 99 and Johnson had 66 catches for over 900 yards. This Browns team will not even come close to those numbers.
This team is bad on the offensive side.
