The Browns game is blacked out this week...for Detroit Lions fans. This game is considered "the joke game," but all of us are still pulling for a win today, right?

| We don't want to give the ball to Jamal Lewis a lot. We don't want to give it to Jerome Harrison at all. Chris Jennings is being sprinkled in. Someone needs to carry the load. |

Kevin Smith has had a poor yards-per-carry average this season (3.4), but has three touchdowns and has done "ok" given the circumstances. |

Calvin Johnson is still a star in the making. For the Lions' sake, hopefully they don't trade their best receiver again, because they'll just draft another one. |

| The offensive line looked a little bit shaky against the Ravens last week, but against the 32nd ranked Lions defense, it's hard to believe they'll be tested the same. |

OL | Their offensive line is so bad, Yahoo Sports doesn't even show them as having a right guard. OK, they aren't horrible, but the Browns have the edge at youth in Joe Thomas and Alex Mack. |

Julian Peterson is getting up their in age, but with veterans Larry Foote and Ernie Sims to go along with them, the unit has the experience to sit back and defend Quinn's short passing approach. |

| Brandon McDonald hasn't shown enough that he will be a starting cornerback this year, but Eric Wright has held steady for the second year in a row. |

DB | The Lions are ranked worst in the league against the pass. It'll be another epic tail if Brian Daboll chooses not to exploit that. |

I preached this week that the expectations should be downgraded to "nothing" on offense. But, maybe I should hold off on that projection for a week. Every team the Browns have faced this season besides two of them are ranked in the top half of the league defensively. Our offense might not break out this week with long drives, but I believe our defense can set up Brady Quinn with a few short drives by creating turnovers.
FINAL PREDICTION: Cleveland Browns 13, Detroit Lions 10.

I get the Toledo CBS (WTOL) where I live (NW Ohio) and we don’t get Cleveland @ Detroit. What the fuck is that? Now I’ve got to watch this on a shitty internet stream rather than HD…

Say what you want but it would be huge to not be stuck with the number 1 overall pick. The pressure from the media and whatnot would be on the Browns to select a QB 1 overall

Jennings looked like he was tackled behind the line of scrimmage but turned out of it and ran for a few yards, on the replay, though, he was down.

Maybe the Ravens game was a wake-up for Brady and Daboll… or maybe this is the reality of playing one of the worse teams in the NFL.
I’m trying REALLY hard to enjoy this, but all we’re playing for now is to avoid the top 5 picks. Right now we’re in there with the Bucs, Lions, Chiefs, Rams, and Redskins.

For anyone absolutely set on video, there is a link here for a stream of the NFL Sunday Ticket’s Redzone Channel.
You won’t see a lot of Browns play, but if we score they will very quickly show a replay. It’s a great channel.

I like the screen passes. The first one didn’t work but they went back to it and got a first down.
The play-calling actually seems sensible today.
Yes, I know it’s nitpicking since they got the first down…but can we run anything else in the wildcat except for Cribbs right Cribbs left?
A really enjoyable game to watch, amazingly. Actually not like going to the dentist for a root canal as per usual.

They weren’t killing the clock. Dawson could catch them sleeping and throw a touchdown pass. Unfortunately Detroit had the pass covered.

That’s right, folks. A game in which the 2009 Browns are playing has just been called a score-a-thon. And the score is not lopsided.
ok, so the defense kind of sucked the 2nd quarter. but the offense still looked nice. hopefully they’ll keep it up and ryan will talk some sense into this d.
Maybe the defense didn’t take Detroit seriously. Personally I think that the blitzes were killing the Browns, Stafford kept finding the player who would have been covered without a blitz.
I cant imagine the browns not taking anyone seriously. I don’t think they take themselves seriously. Thats the problem.
