Accorsi and Kosar New GMs?
So, I don't have any literature on this story but I heard it from the WMMS 100.7 news report this morning. If somebody has literature please post it in a comment. I'm just trying to break the news and inform everyone of what I've heard and also create a spot for discussion before Chris posts it himself.
More specifically, Accorsi is the new GM and Kosar is his apprentice for the future GM spot and the date that Kosar will start is unknown.
Personally, I don't know what to think. I'm fine with Accorsi but is hiring Kosar just a move to please the fans? This is a very risky move by Lerner.

Here is some literature I found on CantonRep.com. I don't know if Accorsi is truly our new GM but it seems to be clear that Kosar will be sometime in the near future.

What, we fire one guy associated with the Ravens just to get the next one who has worked for them?
No way.
I can dig Kosar involved with the new Browns.
But Accorsi reeks of trouble management. We need to be courageous. Why do we need an old authority figure?
Are you kidding me? Ernie Acorsi is very well-respected around the NFL. He has built successful NFL teams in the past. What makes you think he reeks of troubled management?
Agree, Acorsi is top shelf. He would be a solid move. I love Kosar, but to groom him for GM, that I do not know. But if the Browns can hire Acorsi, I am on board.
I too would love to see Acorsi here, but if he’s here to groom someone to be GM, it’d be nice if it was someone who has even a modicum of scouting/personnel experience, and not just a figurehead that the common fan remembers.
I’m hoping this rumor is just the aftermath of Kosar’s recent hiring and the Acorsi rumblings, but grooming Bernie to be GM is the last thing this franchise needs right now.

Kosar was hired as a special consultant for the team weeks ago. Try to keep up. Then, try to make sense.

Accorsi was one of the foundations of the play-off Browns in the 80s. He is more than capable to do the job. that is all fine and good, but does he still have it? Can he turn the team around and get us into the playoffs in a few years?
Also, who better to mentor Kosar, then the man who drafted him? Kosar is a very intellegent person. he also knows football. He graduated early from college, and has done some impressive things on the field. lets not forget the fake spike he drew up for Dan Marino.
Does the site look any different to anyone else? Were there any format changes made overnight? Anyone else with overlarge fonts, overlapping elements, and other weird formatting issues?
yes, it’s changed.
i like it, except paragraph breaks are deleted in the comments.

My opinion is we need a proven General Manager that has an established history of acquiring talent and building a team, who the coach will answer to at all times. Accorsi would have been nice, hopefully we can get someone like him.
I’d have to research a bit to see who might be available, it’s tough to keep track of who is doing what. Iw ould not be entirely opposed to getting a director of player personnel from elsewhere, someone like Nick Cesario in New England who has strong ties to Cleveland having attended John Carroll.
Thanks for your candid response. New England is still tabu to me though, that´s not football.
Mangini has done his wood shedding since then, he´s not a Patriots stooge.
Acorsi not taking a full-time job, reports Grossi.
Accorsi not taking the job, and I couldn’t blame him for not returning after Lerner let Mangini pick his guy over the recommended choice of Accorsi as a paid consultant.

Don’t expect an answer until after the teabaggers have had their meeting with Lerner.

Bernie Kosar has been badmouthed by the media regarding his skills as an investor. His football knowhow however is not in question.
I would love Jim Zorn as OC, and if QB coach is not too lowly, Bernie Kosar would make a great one, wouldn´t he?
Hell with the media. Someone posted the story on Kosar and his financial situation, great read. It was more than some of his bad investments. He gave a ton of coin to ballplayers who were hurting, and his wonderful ex-wife is draining the hell out of him.
That being said I love the guy, however for a GM, that is way up in the air.
Whelp, go to sleep last night pretty content with what I read about Accorsi and then finally log on to check out what’s new…and now I’m all befuddled.
You know those rumors of piss-poor management? Starting to believe it.

a change had to be made somewhere. Maybe Kokinis decided to get off the sinking ship before his career is ruined. He can claim that Mangini ran the whole opperation, and who wouldn’t believe him. Firing a coach in mid-season has never worked. I think if you can get a GM in that is not loyal to the coach and can make his own decisions talent will come.
Maybe they were the first to boycott?

Sorry to befuddle everybody with the title but it was a good attention grabber no? But that is literally what I heard this morning and I had to post. I’m not so up on the idea of Kosar. Why do we keep giving unknowns chances?
And also, the new format for SBN is terrible. Change it back. Now.
yes, it was a good attention grabber. it’s also a good way to decrease the credibility of the site if random nfl fans come here for information about the GM mess and are immediately led to believe that those two have been hired.

you have the ability to change it by going to Manage Fanshots, and editing the title.

I know but Chris posted his own now so it’s done.
But I can do it to make you feel better.

You´re gonna put a post out there, getting people to put honest comments out there, and then pull it, basically swallowing all progress in decisioning?
