So MLBs would be Maiava and Bowens? maybe Veikune?

Bowens is listed as our starting ROLB. I’m seeing Maiava and Veikune, maybe Costanzo.

Damn it double post. Sorry, please delete the above. (P.S. The “CANCEL” button doesn’t seem to work.)

they just keep on bringing the pain, don’t they. do you think we’d play costanzo over veikune? why not get veikune a bunch more reps and see what he has?

We actually saw him get some snaps last week, which is probably good.

yeah, that was nice. there’s no reason at this point to not fully test our rookies and start preparing them for when they need to make an impact. of course, somebody might want to consider making an impact now…

Agreed, rookies should play. Find small roles for them and see if they can flourish when you give them opportunities. Anything positive we can get from this season is welcome in my book, because there hasn’t been a whole lot that’s been positive so far.

During the Bears game it was Bowens at Mike ILB and Maiava at Will ILB with Trusnik coming in at OLB.
I don’t think Veikune is ready yet. It is a tough transition from 3-4 DE to 3-4 Mike. He looked a little lost in coverage in the preseason.

veikune played a little at ILB last week and actually didn’t look half bad.

I would say “How could this get any worse?” but I’m afraid if I do, with our luck, I might just find out.
Oh wait……

The bad thing about our injuries is that in the offseason I will talk myself into believing that our team would have been fine if healthy.

Wow. You are incredible smooth and persuasive if you can make that happen.
Want out of Cleveland? Easy - mess with LeBron's entourage.

I convinced myself last offseason that the Browns were really a 4-7 team and that the games with Gradkowski and Dorsey didn’t count.
by Roger Dorn on Nov 3, 2009 5:03 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I wish I could have convinced myself of that!

The injuries were bound to occur. The only thing that might give the Browns a shred of competitiveness is that it happens to other teams also this time of year. The bad teams we play in the last half of the season will have disproportionately more injuries—just like us.

If you can talk yourself or anyone into believing that you have a future in sales… or politics.

My father had one of those. He was in pain for about a year and then it disappeared and he’s never had any problems since.
Spinal problems are tricky.

What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger? The young players on this team are either going to go crazy or become some on the most mentally strong players ever. This season if not already is becoming a mess.
It’s like watching Jerry Springer for the fights and . I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Might as well have it happen this year than when the Browns are actually contending.
by gahnki on Nov 3, 2009 4:44 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
well, yes, but…I’m not sure it’s an “either-or” situation. Last year ended with no quarterbacks; this year with no linebackers. What next? The dreaded no fullbacks?

The dreaded no fullbacks?
Does this mean mooncamping will switch allegiances?
by talonk on Nov 3, 2009 5:43 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Well, we waived two special teamers to (more than likely) make room for new linebackers. My guess is that Barton retires.

Edgerrin James just got cut. Would anyone want him on the Browns?
by The Brown Note on Nov 3, 2009 11:57 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
he was 60 when the colts got rid of him. he fumbles a lot now because he always needs to keep one hand on his cane.

No way, we already have one old, slow RB. Wouldn’t mind talking a flyer on Chris Chambers though.
