Anyone else watching Cincy vs. Baltimore. It is so strange watching solid play calling.

Bye weeks suck when you don’t have a fantasy team.

CBS announcers are the worst ever.

Dick Enberg is no Solomon Wilcotts, that’s fer sure.

Wow. Josh Freeman is looking like he has some potential.
by Simmsinns on Nov 8, 2009 1:37 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
He did good in the first qtr, clearly I jumped the gun.

QB rating of 72.2 with 2 touchdowns as a rookie isn’t bad.
Better than anyone we have on our roster.

Why can’t our crappy FO at least put together a good O like them?

Officiating in all three major sports has regressed SO BADLY these seasons.
by SpecialBrownie on Nov 8, 2009 1:50 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
I’d have to agree, but I don’t watch a lot of baseball. I’ll add college football to the list.
by Simmsinns on Nov 8, 2009 1:53 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
How didn’t you hear about the blown two out call in the Yankee – Angel series?
by SpecialBrownie on Nov 8, 2009 2:04 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Stopped watching baseball when the Indians were mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. I just don’t find baseball entertaining, unless it’s my team in a win or go home situation. I’d rather watch Game 2 of 82 in the regular season of Cavs basketball than whatever World Series game was playing that night.
Just personal taste, or distaste. (The lack of any real enforceable salary cap enrages me, well that’s an exaggeration, I just try my best to ignore it for that reason. I don’t like the circlejerk that is baseball’s teams with the highest payroll. Makes me sick. )
by Simmsinns on Nov 8, 2009 2:11 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Oh, I’m te exact same, but I just like watching playoff games regardless of sport.

And by the way, NFL is going uncapped next year bud.
by SpecialBrownie on Nov 8, 2009 2:15 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I was under the impression that it was a one year thing. I’d hope this isn’t their plan for the future of the NFL. Then it will be only a matter of time till they create a MLB like situation. Farm teams and all. I just threw up in my mouth a little.
by Simmsinns on Nov 8, 2009 2:18 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I actually hoped that the NFL would’ve adopted Arena as a D league type situation.
But we don’t need 12243235312 round drafts.
by SpecialBrownie on Nov 8, 2009 2:21 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I think if the NFl goes one season without a cap, it is going to be very hard to get it back. We could be headed to a MLB kinda thing.
by Bernie19Kosar on Nov 8, 2009 2:35 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I have no doubt if it stays it will utterly ruin the NFL in my eyes.

Lots of touchdowns this week so far.

It just seems that way because the Browns aren’t playing.
Haha.

Ok, I’ve got a general football question. So i’m here at NFL.com voting page for the pro-bowl. I’m all the way to defense and voting for free safety. Why the hell can’t I vote for Jairus Byrd? The guy is an INT machine, absolute beast. Four consecutive games with a pick AND three consecutive with TWO picks. The guy is incredible so far and is only a rookie. I’d like to vote for him, but he isn’t on the ballot.
by Simmsinns on Nov 8, 2009 2:27 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
He has to be nominated in the first place.
by SpecialBrownie on Nov 8, 2009 2:33 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Huh? There is every other starter from every other team on the online ballot.
by Simmsinns on Nov 8, 2009 2:34 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Oh I don’t know. I was under the impression you have to be nominated to be on a Pro Bowl ballot.
by SpecialBrownie on Nov 8, 2009 2:36 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
The worst part is that in that category (AFC Free Safety, pick 1) is easily the best choice. I’m going to have to leave it blank now. Oh well.

Joe “Flecco”
Hahahaha. Mispronunciation gets me every time.
by Simmsinns on Nov 8, 2009 2:32 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
Haha. Now that you mention it, I was watching some MMA last night on CBS, Fedor vs. Brett Rogers (great fight btw) but the announcing was horrendous. One guy kept saying guiLLotine choke, and mueY thai. Actually pronouncing the silent L’s and Y. It was absolutely hilarious none the less.
by Simmsinns on Nov 8, 2009 2:58 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I know everyone’s favorite Gus Johnson was one of the announcers during the MMA show.

Yup. You never miss Joe Rogan until you watch a fight without him. Seriously, I think Rogan has taught me more about MMA than I’ll ever know. Florian and Mir are pretty good commentators on WEC.
That Fedor-Rogers fight was very good. I actually think the stoppage was a little early. I really would like to see Fedor in the UFC, but his management team seems too goofy.
by Ryan Kelsey on Nov 9, 2009 11:21 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
The rumor is that Fedor wants part ownership to come to UFC.
I doubt it will ever happen.
by Bernie19Kosar on Nov 9, 2009 9:51 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Yeah, I’ve heard that. Dana White has said that Fedor is willing to fight anyone, but his mob-like management entourage is ridiculous to deal with. And since UFC won’t do a cross promotion with anyone else, I don’t see it going anywhere anytime soon. Though, some day hopefully Fedor gets fed up with not fighting the best of the best and finds a way into the UFC., somehow.

flacco is having a very DA-like performance today.

Damn good play today by Cinci DB, Joseph.
by Simmsinns on Nov 8, 2009 3:45 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
Wow. If those were Brown Officials, that would’ve been 4th down guaranteed.

Joe Flacco played Yakety Sax in the backfield.

So, now that Tampa has won a game, are we now 32 in all power rankings Monday morning?
by Bernie19Kosar on Nov 8, 2009 4:22 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
I figured we would be last even if they lost by 28 to 17.
We are hands down, easily the worst team in the NFL right now. No question.
by Simmsinns on Nov 8, 2009 4:26 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Steven Jackson. Head Coach with a plan. Right now, they are better than us.
by Bernie19Kosar on Nov 9, 2009 9:53 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I can’t see it. Jackson is really frickin good, but that team is really frickin bad.
by Ryan Kelsey on Nov 10, 2009 8:07 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
James Laurinaitis too. The kid is absolutely amazing. Biggest steal of the draft.
Despite the Rams being really bad, I still see them leaps and bounds better than we are at this point.

Mathew Stafford is rolling in the first quarter right now too. 2 TDs, 91 yards, 8 of 10, 144 rating…
Why do I feel like puking right now?
by Simmsinns on Nov 8, 2009 4:39 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
he hasn’t been that great overall, though.

A Sunday without the Browns is still far more depressing than a Sunday with. All is not lost!
by golanbatrac on Nov 8, 2009 5:25 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
I’m not sure I agree with that this season.

Bye week in a 1-7 season ≠ No Browns team at all.
by Simmsinns on Nov 8, 2009 7:06 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I agree with this. But a bye week seems like a much needed relief from my previous Sundays this season. Especially so a terrible loss doesn’t ruin my week to come after the incredible Buckeye victory I enjoyed last night.

I assume he spent this Sunday trying to recover from the worst hangover he’s had in a long time.

Andy Reid
You’d think he’d learn – by calling a couple of asinine challenges, he just may have cost the Eagles any chance to win the game. His challenge of the spot at midfield just may be the dumbest Coach’s challenge that I have ever seen. Not only was he wrong, but it’s a challenge that I’ve never seen overturned, and he was risking the team’s final timeout in a close game.
Wow.
