Here are some of my favorites…

“Go Pens
What is their record right now…I’ve lost track of them in this misery and live in Montana so can’t get any games of their’s”

We helped push them to turning their hopes to hockey. Well done, Browns. Well done.

“Are you kidding me? Game plans are BS…Coaches are BS… and players are BS. Tomlin walked into a already solid franchise and now that he is in full control, this is what’s happening? Somebody needs to wake up! Coaches says there are going to be changes? BS…”

People are ACTUALLY calling for Mike Tomlin’s job.

“Play calling has been predictable for weeks-Arians has to go. Special Teams coach has to go. DBs are pathetic without Troy.
We should start our youngsters including Dixon start building them-and drop the last 3 games to get us the best DB’s in the draft we can get.”

It feels SO GOOD to see the Steelers reduced to “Let’s see how low of a draft pick we can get.”

“My revelation for the evening? Daniel Sepulveda needs not only to be our punter, but he also needs to play corner, and he needs to become the "Defensive and Special Teams Tackling Coach".

:)

Learn how to tackle you bastards!"

Now we aren’t the only team in the NFL that has a game where there’s little to feel good about other than the punter…
Try as he may… Sepulveda aint no Dave Zastudil :-)

Wow, and you thought that some of the people on Cleveland.com overreacted. Fire Tomlin, are you serious?

Consider this to be reflect the general douchiness of the Steelers front-running fan base coming to the fore.

There is no General douchiness

Just douches who pose as Steeler fans. They come and go on our blog. Don’t generalize please.

Could be a down period for a few years.
Need to bring in some big time free agents or we are looking at 6-10 next year or so

This is essentially the same team that won the Super Bowl last year, right?

the difference between them and us.: at 1-11, and with the greatest player in the nba suiting up for the hometown, we still cared about this game.

and our guys let them sons of bitches have it.

The best I heard so far was “the game didn’t count because Troy and Smith didn’t play, beat us when we have Polumalu and then talk to me”.

Using that logic we should be 11 – 2 or so seeing as we are missing 8 defensive starters.

Something tells me we are going to see a whole lot less Steeler gear in Ohio until next season. The frontrunners should take heart. By now I’m sure many places have begun to carry Saints gear so they can still jump on that bandwagon.

by mgtbfb on Dec 11, 2009 9:04 AM EST reply actions

My god, with that logic the Bills are undefeated and the Mets are the World Series champions.

Bills fan? In Colorado? It's more likely than you think.

by UZ on Dec 12, 2009 5:00 AM EST up reply actions

In regards to missing players, here are all the Browns players placed on IR so far this season:

James Davis RB
D’Qwell Jackson LB
Eric Barton LB
Dave Zastudil P
Steve Heiden TE
Shaun Rogers DT
Jamal Lewis RB
Brodney Pool S
CJ Mosely DT

Arguably Rogers is the only one on the level of Polamalu and Smith, but looking closer you will see 4 starters of the defense listed there.

That means our 32nd ranked D was missing 4 starters and still held them to 6 points.

by talonk on Dec 12, 2009 11:35 AM EST up reply actions

DQ and Shaun are 2 of our 3 best defensive players.

by Roger Dorn on Dec 12, 2009 12:18 PM EST up reply actions

any talk on their part of losing the game due to injuries is typical douche steeler excuse making. injuries happen to every team, every year. we may not be a great defense with rogers and DQ, but we’re surely better. the fact is we outplayed them and won the game. i don’t think anyone on this site that i have seen has ever made excuses for our poor play this year. we haven’t had many good teams since the return and we all acknowledge it. clearly, low-brow front-running stooges are incapable of admitting failures.

by Dawg Nuts on Dec 12, 2009 12:26 PM EST up reply actions

DQ and Shaun are 2 of our 3 3 out of our 4 best defensive players.

I’d say we can count Shaun as at least 2 players :-)

why aren’t you green?

One baseball game, he came to the plate and heard a woman in the crowd shout to the pitcher, "I'll make you a chocolate cake if you strike out that 'so-and-so'!" Says Strong: "I hit that ball out of the park. Then I looked at her like, 'Do I get a cake now?' "

You got one thing right......

Browns fans are certainly ‘special’, as are most people that live in the arm pit of the US known as Ohio!

The very existence of flamethrowers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

At least we don’t live in ’America’s crotch’.

Pittsburgh: America’s crotch. Literally one of the worst cities on the planet. Full of toothless mountain people. Looks from above as if someone decided, “You know what I’m going to do? Cut out a huge chunk of one of the worst sections of Eastern Europe and drop it in the middle of Pennsylvanian Appalachia.” At the end of the day, the Cleveland Browns suck, but at least we’re not from Pittsburgh.

I get back quite a bit though. If you honestly think ANYWHERE in the state of Ohio has anything on Pittsburgh, you need to put the crack pipe down immediately.

It’s crazy how a group can go from complete opposite ends of the spectrum. I live in the southwest, Browns fans are few and far between here, whereas Steelers fans (front-runners) are to my left and right. All I heard from them after last year is how they are the best team, with an all star QB, great organization from top to bottom, etc. And now this. Give me a break. Should I feel guilty in taking pleasure from their pain?

can’t remember the guy’s name but he said something like this:

“this is the most embarrassing loss i have ever seen by the pittsburgh steelers. they thought that just because they’re pittsburgh and they’re cleveland they could just show up and win the game with no effort.”

hahaha

people trying to figure out what’s wrong w/ the steelers mention ben’s concussions. they’re his fault! he holds onto the ball waaaay too long.

by UZ on Dec 12, 2009 5:03 AM EST up reply actions

The Steelers are the #1 bandwagon NFL team in the country right now, no doubt. The Cowboys haven’t won a playoff game in over a decade so their following has fallen away. The Steelers are winning and they’re promoted as the “ideal” NFL franchise (which they pretty much are) so they’re the cool team to follow now. “Steeler Nation” is becoming like “Red Sox Nation”.

by Buckeye Brad on Dec 12, 2009 1:44 PM EST up reply actions

you know

some of this talk is similar talk that you’ll hear Eagles fans have after we lose a game. Actually, we have that same super-negative “we suck” attitude even after we win. And we still pack the seats. And we still are ulta-loyal.

Calling for your head coach’s and your QB’s head is a good thing, when done consistently. But, doing that after a year of saying how awesome your team is, jumping on the bandwagon, and being a general victory-riding douche is a FAR different thing.

Fuck Steelers Fans, and Fuck the Steelers.

So anyway, I’ve been a Browns fan for about 2 years now…there is something about you guys that is likable…devoted fans, through high and low…not unlike my Eagles and Raiders

by birds'n'raiders on Dec 11, 2009 8:42 PM EST reply actions

That’s what they said about the Boston Redsocks too, before they started winning again. The only bad thing that will come from the Browns winning more games will be that front runners will come to OUR fanbase and start polluting it like so many others….but it’d still be worth if we won.

More comments from the outraged Steelers Nation

On Bruce Arians

I want B.A.’s (or Bitch Ass as I like to call him) head on a spike for all to see at the intersection of the Three Rivers as a warning to all who dare to come into Pittsburgh and try to subvert the progress of this team!

More on Bruce Arians (edited for profanity)

This team needs alot of work in the off-season/ $%^& an off-season, I want the whole team practicing 2/3 of the whole off-season, establishing a rhythym and making an actual OFFENSIVE PLAYBOOK. Hopefully written in the blood of Bruce Arians. Someone needs to hang that #$%^^ from one of the walkways at Heinz Field.
 Worst. Coach. Ever.

Your veteran WR bus-tosses your QB in public? Your offense looks completely lost against some of the worst defenses in the NFL? Receivers give up on routes while the QB still has the ball? Trouble in paradise, folks.

I do find the Hines Ward calling out of Roethlisberger after a concussion kind of alarming. Who would do such a thing?

by Roger Dorn on Dec 12, 2009 6:26 PM EST up reply actions

I think the Ward call-out also put Ward in the position of having to play hurt. Imagine if he would have sat out the game Thursday after calling out Roflburger. He played hurt and in so doing, hurt his team. NEVER a good thing to call out a fellow player on injuries… never.

by Brownsyup on Dec 12, 2009 7:23 PM EST up reply actions

He’s a lineman sized QB… not exactly the picture of football toughness you envision as a kid. Ward had a point. Remember when big Willie knocked Roethlisberger out last year. That wasn’t even a hit. And he was fine a week later. They had the playoffs wrapped up and he didn’t want to play Cleveland.

So maybe this is a good place to post this… I figured you would appreciate it. My family and I visited my brother and sister-in-law (sister is from PA, so she’s loosely associated with the Steelers… not a huge fan though… my bro is still a devoted Browns fan. I feel sorry he has to live in Steelers country). On the way there, we stopped at a service plaza around Pittsburgh. Admittedly, this is not the best picture ever (cell phone camera quality), but I feel like this Steelers fan gets it. If only the rest of their fans and even the whole Steelers football team would get with the program and put on the skirts they deserve, the world would probably be a better place.

You would all be proud. I walked into the service plaza with just my non-Browns hoodie on. I saw a plethora of Steelers jerseys. So I had my bro hold onto the money we were using to get some BK and ran out to the car to grab my Cleveland Browns coat. I wore it with pride in the plaza. You can’t imagine how gratifying all the dirty looks were. It was fantastic.
