Good news? I think so.

Yes, IMO. I would love Holmgren in Cleveland. Maybe he wants this challenge, maybe he sees the Seattle job as done with, been there before. So who knows maybe he is the one to turn this around.
I must admit, and a change in direction for me, I would have Mangini comeback for at least next year, however if Holmgren is hired maybe that will change also.

I also would like Holmgren. Adam Schefter on Twitter mentioned that Seattle is still the favorite and that today and yesterday have been spent by Lerner courting Holmgren and trying to sell him on Cleveland the franchise.

I posted a link to this article in the other thread about Ruskell but this probably deserves a discussion of its own.
Also, ESPN.com says that Holmgren supposedly wants to decide his future by Christmas so I guess we’ll know soon if he’s coming to Cleveland. If he does come here then I don’t see that being good news for Mangini.

my favorite clip:
The person spoke on condition of anonymity on Tuesday because Cleveland owner Randy Lerner wants to keep his search secret. The meeting is taking place at team headquarters in Berea, Ohio.
Well, then a trendy restaurant in Tremont was probably not the best place to get together last night.

Problem is we have to show him some of the finer dining establishments. These football guys love their food.

Shouldn’t be too tough. Cleveland has a surprisingly strong dining scene.
Though, Seattle might be tough to compete with.

More news: Tony Grossi is reporting that Holmgren’s agent, Bob LaMonte, is also in Cleveland with him so they may be talking about a contract. Grossi said that LaMonte usually only gets involved with talks when a deal is near so this may be closer to happening than we think.
