Posted mainly for the note about "G.M. trainee Bernie Kosar." A little scary, no?

I don’t really get pursuing coaches before our “Czar” is hired. Please Randy, let the football man make these choices.

Maybe Weis will be the “Czar”? Kidding, kidding.

How do you hire a Offensive coordinator before a Head Coach. And Kosar G.M. Trainee?

I have to admit, i like the 1st comment, but not its content.

could the fact that the browns already met with weis (if the rumor’s true) be an indicator that quinn will start next season?

It would sound like tacit endorsement of Quinn, but I have a hard time believing that rumor is true.

I thought I read somewhere Weis’s name linked with the Chiefs?

One baseball game, he came to the plate and heard a woman in the crowd shout to the pitcher, "I'll make you a chocolate cake if you strike out that 'so-and-so'!" Says Strong: "I hit that ball out of the park. Then I looked at her like, 'Do I get a cake now?' "

We´re not taking this hit.
Weis is nice, but we´re not obliged to justify his standing with Notre Dame to hire him.
He was in the right place with Notre Dame. That was his spot, and still is in all honesty. Lets not play buddies with Notre Dame management and Patriots pushers, by picking him up as a discard.
He´s a good coach, and he should coach, same as Mangino. If the NCAA can´t place them it´s not the NFL´s problem.

you know he was an nfl coach before he went to ND right? maybe the nfl is his place, and he should go back there.

I guess I didn´t do my homework then. He was in the NFL?

by mooncamping on Dec 10, 2009 6:36 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

he was the patriots offensive coordinator before he went to ND

Its pretty clear that Weiss knows nothing about coordinating an offense, as evidenced by his years with the Patriots and ND (where they had a great defense and a horrible offense). Lord knows he can’t do anything to help develop QBs.

Clearly, this man is a college coach—just look at how he succeeded in the NCAA vs. his time in the NFL! The place he just got fired from for being awful? That’s his spot.

Everyone knows that pleasing college programs and other teams’ fans is the #1 thing Randy Lerner considers when looking at a coach, and that needs to change.

I laughed when he wrote that Weiss was in the right place with Notre Dame — I’m sure the ND fans would be surprised to hear that one.

I saw Notre Dame vs. Washington. The vibe was pretty good.
Someone asked for his head, and they got it. Now they have to put the headless horseman back together, and everyone is freaked out about where that will be.

He was a God-awful head coach that couldn’t win with his own players.
