Kellen Winslow Traded
Winslow traded to Bucs, just saw it on SportsCenter....What the hell is going on in that front office? I don't get it. I hope they have something rediculous up their sleeve because all we got in return was undisclosed draft picks. I'm rather angry right now. Do they know something that we don't? Somewhere Steve Heiden is spiking everything in sight out of sheer joy....including his children and pets.

I am new to this so bare with me and welcome me to this lol. I am a huge browns fan and love them more than i love anything else.
This is so hard to believe. Kellen is top TE in the NFL. I was reading on ESPN and I had seen they someone said it was because he did not make the key plays that needed to be made. I find this to be a bad move on the browns part, Edwards dropped more balls than any one on the team and in the NFL and he is a WR. This blows my mind or busts my bubble. I am shocked and see nothing coming out of this trade. Kellen I am sorry you have been good to Cleveland and you were my favorite player. Good luck in Tampa.
Lets go browns lets see what we can make out of this but it better be good.

Winlsow Gone
This is awesome. Trading a cancer away is great. Let Tampa deal with him now. Although great talent, had a knack of bad mouthing the organiziation and other players. Not what you need on a TEAM!! Heiden did just as good as Winlsow and is making much less money. How many times did it seem like there was offensive pass interference on Winlsow on a big 3rd down so he could get the ball. I remember 5 or 6 of them off the bat. I don’t like people who think of themselves first than the team. Glad he is gone.

Great trade for the Browns. Clean house now and get rid of BE, DA, Smith, and Rodgers. It’s not like we were going to the playoffs this year anyway. Cle. picked TB’s pocket on this one.

You surely must be kidding. We got, by all accounts, next to nothing in return for our most talented player. That’s actually a bad thing, not a good thing.

most talented, but also most injured?

Very talented and, often, very injured. Still, when healthy, the best player on the team. I would argue he was always the most talented.

Rogers is more talented IMO, but I agree with the sentiment.

i mean 11 career TDs in 5 seasons. bottom line, not productive enough for the hype

Next to nothing is a very poor description. Draft picks are gold.

A great move. If Winslow was half the player he thought he was, he’d be the best TE in the league as opposed to an unreliable and injury prone mouth.
It’s going to take some time to clean the negativity away from this team, but this is a MAJOR step forward.

I keep reading this over and over. Other than the whole “I’m a solider” thing, what has Winslow done to be labeled as a mouth?
The injury flare-up this year was caused by the Browns front office throwing Winslow under the bus and not wanting to mention the dreaded “staph infection”. He never went to the media and demanded a new contract. It was only rumored through web sites. He has never gone in front of a camera and bashed his team (Chad Johnson), he has never bashed a teammate (T.O), and he has never quit on his team (Randy Moss). So because he acted like an ass for 20 seconds when he was in college, makes him an ass.
Injury prone, early in his career, yes. But a mouth? Nope.

I think it’s pretty well documented that he did go to the team and ask (perhaps not “demand”, but that’s semantic) for a new deal. Just like Cribbs and Dawson did.

Okay, does that make Cribbs and Dawson mouthy? I’m not attacking you per se, I am just pointing out that I think that K2 got a bad rap as a malcontent when he played his ass off and never complained about it.

I was just pointing out that it really wasn’t “only internet rumors” that had him clamoring for a new contract. I wasn’t agreeing or disagreeing with you concerning his mouthy-ness.

“Early in his career” is pretty generous considering that he’s been in the league for 5 years and has missed basically two complete seasons and 40% of another. 44 games in 5 years…
The other things you say may be true, but as far as I’m concerned, when the team was as rotted out as this one was last year, you’ve got to make the wholesale changes,

Winslow was dud
Winslow had flashes of being a truly great player, but great players actually play great more often than not and Winslow has not been a great player, only a great pain. I for one love Steve Heiden, the man never misses a play. He may not be seen as one of the best TE in the league but given the chance to start as our #1 could easily put up top 10 numbers. Heiden is tough and as solid a football player as they come. Also, let’s see how Rucker matures, Winslow was un-needed baggage.
