Greg Ellis
I'm curious about Greg Ellis, who was released by the Cowboys yesterday. He could be a great mentor for our OLBs, possibly more so than Bowens. While some people see him as a complainer, he appears to be a positive influence in the locker room, and was even the union rep for Dallas players. Is he a good fit for Cleveland?

What has he been complaining about?
All I know is the man can sack the QB from the OLB position in the 3-4. Unless Hall has turned into an absolute monster in less than a year, Ellis would start for us at LOLB.
I would not mind seeing the Browns make him an offer. I think the real issue would be whether or not he is a Mangini type of guy (character, love for the game, intelligence, etc.) He is somewhat limited in pass coverage, and wouldn’t be the long-term answer at age 33, but we flat out need pass rushers. I don’t think you can ever have enough. Plus, according to ESPN, he has a good variety of moves and uses his hands well, two things I would love to see Wimbley learn to do.
The only complaining I’ve really read about was largely regarding contract issues, and concerns with his stability with the team (which eventually turned out to be valid). Based on what I’ve seen, it doesn’t sound like a big deal because it didn’t carry over to the field or locker room. Some articles mentioned him covering Winslow in one of our games, so he might have reasonable pass coverage. He is similar in size to Hall, on the tall side, so he may be helpful in showing him how to use his size effectively.
He is right behind Selvin Young for my FA that I want the most. My top 3 right now are:
Selvin Young
Greg Ellis
