Pool, Cribbs, Rogers get votes for top player in the division
James Walker at the worldwide leader's AFC North blog took an anonymous survey of AFC North players. They could not vote for themselves or their teammates in the poll.
Ed Reed ran away with the vote, while Harrison and Polamalu tied for second.
Terrell Suggs and the three Browns were the only others to receive votes.
The poll apparently had many questions and the results will be released in the coming weeks.

I am certainly not joking, and I don’t think Walker is either.
QBs were excluded from this poll, which I neglected to mention.
Pool has always had physical talent, just maybe not the intangibles that other star safeties do. I was definitely surprised to hear that Mangini maybe isn’t comfortable with him at FS.

The vote for Pool was a joke though. I have no doubt in that.

This is why I want rufio to break down film of specific players. Coming out (early), Pool was supposed to be a freak of an athlete. Is he really not as fast as a 31 year old Ed Reed? What makes him a lesser safety? Actually seeing this (and other players) broken down would be invaluable for any level fan, I believe.

What puts just about every other free safety below Reed in the pecking order is Reed’s ridiculous ability to make big plays. He’s just got the brains to know what is probably happening, the “intangible” feel for the play as it develops, good hands, good speed, and the fortitude to gamble for big plays.
I am finding it kind of difficult to show “solid” safety play in screenshots or video clips because of the damn camera angle. The SBN 49ers blog recently had a post in favor of new/multiple angles as well.

I didn’t mean to imply that you were joking. I was guessing that maybe some other player, maybe “Ochocinco” thought it would be humerous to vote for Pool.
I just can’t wrap my mind around the fact that some player on the Steelers, Bengals or Ravens thought that Brodney Pool was the most talented player in the AFC North. I don’t think he is the most talented DB on the Browns.
