Yes, the coolest uni's in the NFL may get a little cooler.

I certainly don't think what happened in a Preseason game portends much, and the brown pants with no striping give an old school look even more character. Also, a brown on brown combo would not, as Grossi says, make them look like a fudgesickles... but it would be an intimidating alternative to the over-played incorporation of black that other teams try to use (Ravens, Falcons, Eagles, Lions).

I liked the orange pants much better than the brown ones, they were too plain without any stripes down the side. And brown jerseys with brown pants would be awful.

I honestly have no idea how anyone could like those orange pants, so gaudy and abrasive to the eye. The brown pants are very conservative in comparison, and the lack of striping goes with the overall minimalist approach of the uniform. Hopefully wiser men will prevail.

But my god were those orange pants atrocious.

I like the orange pants because they have a more retro look in my opinion. They may be ugly, but I’m also a sucker for the “ugly” baseball uniforms of the 70’s and 80’s.

The brown pants are a nice change too. It’s a color scheme that obviously incorporates the traditional colors but in a different way.

In closing, I think we can all agree on one thing: the orange jerseys should never see the light of day on the field again.

I prefer brown. In fact let´s get brown helmets.
With the name Browns I would expect orange to be the secondary color.
The Broncos are pushing the orange and so are the Bears. Brown should be the primary color. The dark brown is like a prettier black. And the lighter brown tones can have all kinds of tints.

The orange is for the helmet, and it should be nowhere else but as lining or tread. The rest of the uniform should be dark brown and white, all the various combos you can make.

I understand how you must feel about the orange pants, I just feel the same way about the brown pants. For me, as a kid in the 70’s, that is what I first remember, so thats what I like.

I’ve created what I consider to be an “okay” brown pants/top uniform in Madden before with some orange stripes down the pants and orange on the shoulder pads area. It might be interesting to see how it looks for one game, but I don’t have high hopes for the combination at the moment.

I was a huge fan of the brown tops and orange pants. Like APV said though, I have no problem sticking with the traditional combination.

A decade or two ago there was an article about how football teams that wore dark drew more penalties – a kind of good guys wear white hats, bad guys wear black hats mentality that the refs had. If that still holds true, then brown pants would be a bad idea with if they got thrown in with brown jerseys.

But I did think that the brown pants would look better with a white stripe on the leg flanked by two orange stripes, or vice versa.

The all Brown looks sick! I think the white ones would look better with a “white on white” look, only having an outline of brown for the numbers and the stripes, potentially with white pants too.

Only as special unis, though.
