Tired of the Browns' Losing:
The Cleveland Browns disappointments kill this Browns' fan!!!!!!
The Cleveland Browns, have done nothing over the last decade that has reminded anybody of the Browns' organization that once was a proud organization. With bad draft picks, free-agent signings, and bad coaches, this once proud organization can't even begin to say that they rank anywhere close to the Browns' organization before they became the Baltimore Ravens. We should've drafted Chris "Beanie" Wells with the #5 pick, instead of trading down to get a center. We could've waited until next year before we got one of them. The rest of the draft picks I liked, especially Brian Robiskie. I thought that we could've also landed Brian Hartline, instead of Massaquoi, but it will take a couple of years to c how bad that decision is. We also need to cut Stallworth, and let him cause havoc for another team, if he ever gets unsuspended. Now, we need to trade Brady Quinn to the Detroit Lions for a couple draft picks or maybe one of their decent players and a draft pick.

Really? Upon initial reading I thought this was an excellent attempt at sarcasm and the spoofing of a bad post.
this is the prototypical example of a ridiculous, ranting, pointless post. this ranks as one of the all-time turds laid on this site.
See, it was so flawless in its execution, that I detect a level of genius behind it.
Sort of like how only a genius could miss every question on the SAT.

Let’s consider the evidence:
-Multiple exclamations on line 1
-Boldface type despite the first line not being bolded
-Comparing us unfavorably to the Baltimore Ravens (Mr Malor?)
-Drafting Beanie 25 picks ahead of where he actually got drafted even though we traded back and he was still available to where we coudl have picked him at 22 (biggest clue)
-Drafting Hartline who I don’t even know who that is. If it’s a Buckeye, it is spoofing Ohio St. fans that always want the Browns to bring in Buckeyes
-Trading Quinn to the Lions (who just drafted a QB)
-Hilarious poll
This is obviously a joke

Did you forget the semi-colon in the subject line?

And a possesive apostrophe even though the Browns clearly aren’t possesing anything.
by SpecialBrownie on Jul 10, 2009 12:52 PM EDT up reply actions
The misuse of apostrophes is one of my biggest pet peeves in writing. People make mistake when using them all the time, even smart people, and I don’t know why because the rules are very easy to remember. I don’t know why people think you need to use apostrophes to make a word plural, but I see it constantly.

I planned on it, but usually when I do that, I’ve also removed their post from the site. I’m tempted to leave this one up though for…
-Comedic value
-An example to put in the community guidelines of what not to do

I only agree with one thing........
I too, am tired of the losing
So I told her," I'll be nicer if you try to be smarter!'..That was a mistake.
the poll really is pure genius. this is a “yes” question…not to be confused with a “yes or no” question…

How about trading Jamal Lewis to the Vikings?
Sarcasm intended. I hope and pray this guy was joking.
we should release jamal lewis and brady quinn. then we get eddie george to come out of retirement and sign bobby hoying to a free agent contract. then we trade braylon edwards to miami straight up for ted ginn. we sign maurice clarett as a backup. we trade joe thomas straight up for orlando pace. finally, we fire mangini and give john cooper whatever he wants (ownership %, GM powers, etc.) to come to cleveland. i see it all coming together for a 19-0 SB run.

A lot of us find it easier to just ignore the subject line altogether, as you’ll see by most everyone’s comments :)

chris, this site is fantastic, and you (and rufio) do a phenomenal job, so please don’t take this as an affront to the work you guys do:
i feel very comfortable in saying that, joke or no, this is the greatest post in the history of dawgsbynature.
Great post and thread. This is just what I needed while trying to get through the summer doldrums we Cleveland sports fans are enduring. The Davis signing gave me a buzz for about 3 seconds; but I haven’t had a smile as a Cleveland sports fan since April. (And yes, I am including the Shaq trade – I’m still a little-meh about that).

Hey Brad, since the other thread closed, we can talk about our bet here.
Since you changed from 6 losses to 4, I will change from 1 loss to 2.
And you are right, I am too young for what you proposed so we still have to find something

how about BQB has to post a glowing “i love ohio state” piece on the ND blog, or brad has to post a glowing “i love notre dame” article on the OSU blog?
by DontCallMeJoey on Jul 13, 2009 5:17 PM EDT up reply actions
Im up for it. No one uses the ND blog here because there are many better ones, though.
by BradyQuinnisBeast on Jul 13, 2009 5:47 PM EDT up reply actions
I am actually amazed at how confident you are in a team that just went 7-6 against a schedule that includes cupcakes.
Actually over half of the teams we face went to bowl games last year, and its not like we schedule any FCS opponents.
by BradyQuinnisBeast on Jul 13, 2009 8:45 PM EDT up reply actions
BC is probably our easiest game this year
by BradyQuinnisBeast on Jul 14, 2009 10:19 AM EDT up reply actions
When is the last time BC won a championship?
by BradyQuinnisBeast on Jul 14, 2009 11:56 AM EDT up reply actions
Well, that really doesn’t work because if ND loses 3 games then neither of us win. Let’s just keep it the original bet — if they lose closer to 6 games then I win, if they lose closer to 1 game then you win. What that really means is you win if they lose 3 or less games and I win if they lose 4 or more. That sounds good to me. Are we including bowl games, though? I think we should.
And how does this sound for a bet — if you win you can find a ND shirt online and I’ll buy it for you have it shipped to your house (we’ll set $25 price limit), and if I win then you have to buy me an OSU shirt of my choosing and ship it to my house. Does that sound good?

I like the first paragraph, not so much the second. Im kinda tight on money because I lost most of the yards i mowed last year. What about NotJoey’s idea?

I think ND goes 9-3. Weis finally has an experienced quarterback who can run his offense. Defensive talent is finally there, and they now have a new line coach.
The only question is whether they can finally run the ball.
If we go 9-3 Weis will probably get fired. But I dont expect a BC fan to know much about ND
by BradyQuinnisBeast on Jul 14, 2009 10:16 AM EDT up reply actions
I know you guys went 7-6 which included a 14-0 shutout loss by an average BC team and a loss to Syracuse (!) You also played in a very poor bowl and crushed a weak team. The fact that you are returning all your starters from that particular team does not impress me. Do I think you will be better than last year? Probably, but no sure fact. 9-3 seems like a nice improvement from 7-6.
Traitor!
Needed a random place to put this since the fullback preview is buried a few pages back: http://www.dawgsbynature.com/2009/6/26/925635/cleveland-browns-training-camp#18347266

Here is a summary of ND’s team by Yahoo!.
There are some things about it that I dont agree with but overall it is a pretty good article.
by BradyQuinnisBeast on Jul 21, 2009 11:04 AM EDT reply actions
ND’s schedule isn’t quite as easy as I had heard it would be. Nevada is actually supposed to be a strong lower conference team this year. I also would expect the following to be good games:
Michigan
Mich St.
USC
BC
Pitt
UConn
Stanford
What is with ND never playing the SEC or Big 12?
I dont expect Michigan, BC, Pitt, and Uconn to be close.

I know. Im just saying they wont be great on offense because he was one of the bright spots on their team last year
by BradyQuinnisBeast on Jul 21, 2009 7:52 PM EDT up reply actions
They still have enough solid RBs to move the rock. If Forcier is Pat White II or he or anyone else come close, michigan could be decent. Pretty big if, but they could be dangerous with just one player.
Maybe it’s just the OSU fan in me, hoping the Buckeyes don’t consider that game an automatic win and then get upset. If you guys want to put another L on michigan’s schedule, I am completely fine with that.
Thats like saying if Forcier(who hasnt played a down of college football) is a college football hall of fame caliber QB then they will be decent.
Pretty big if.
Anyway, I think scUM will have another losing record this year. Thank you OSU for landing Pryor though, because he would have made Michigan a lot better
by BradyQuinnisBeast on Jul 22, 2009 12:50 AM EDT up reply actions
Are you kidding? Buckeyes fans should want Michigan to beat ND. You alwasy root for Big Ten teams in nonconference games; it makes the conference look better. Especially with all the crap that the Big Ten has gotten from the media lately.
by Buckeye Brad on Jul 22, 2009 8:45 AM EDT up reply actions
Shouldnt he choose who he roots for
by BradyQuinnisBeast on Jul 22, 2009 11:56 AM EDT up reply actions
I know there’s an argument that we should root for mich. every game where they don’t play us. I can’t bring myself to do that.
Plus, we are probably in direct head to head recruiting battles with michigan and if them losing brings us some more blue chippers even though it makes the Big 10 look bad, so be it. Its not like we would win the BCS championship games but aren’t being let in to them at this point.
If the B10 wins bowl games, we’ll stop taking crap from the media.
