Jaguars Claim on Carey is "Unethical"
Over a week ago, Don Carey was headed for I.R. after being placed on waivers by the Browns.
Some people are calling the move by the Jags unethical. Others are calling it stupid by the Browns to let Carey make it to waivers.
Hope this one doesn't come back to bite us.

Honestly, if it’s within the rules and the Browns were at risk, the Jags are well within their right to go for a player that they think can help them. I can’t side with the Browns on this one
Yep. If the Browns didn’t want to risk losing him then they shouldn’t have placed the kid on waivers. Pretty cut and dry to me.
I agree. I guess it was an “unwritten rule” but Mangini has never had a problem with breaking those, so what goes around comes around.

The waiver rule is to stop teams from hording a bunch of young players that might not make the team.
It’s a legitimate concern, as there are a number of teams with a lot of depth who could gain something by IRing 10 young players and keeping them around for next year.
If a rule exists due to a legitimate concern, some sort of social etiquette designed to circumvent the rule seems quite unreasonable.
This reminds me of how Michigan poached a Purdue recruit that had already committed. The kid switched his commitment on signing day, and everyone in the big ten was P.O.’d.
That´s hogwash.
I think it is more unethical that the Browns are hoarding 8 guys, 10 if you include Nate Ness and Dan Carey, that are more suited for free safety, by having designated them cornerbacks throughout preseason activities. They are now strategically listed as defensive backs on the rostersheet of clevelandbrowns.com. As I see it, these guys are: Brandon Anderson, Coye Francies, Rod Hood, Corey Ivy, Gerard Lawson, Brandon McDonald, Hank Poteat and Eric Wright. The tiny no contact cornerbacks are on the way out. If the Browns are stocking these guys more gifted for free safety, to initiate trades with more possible teams, it would be strategically sound. A little creativity in designation of players is fine, but if they hold you to it, you´ve failed.
just quit. We cut Ness a long time ago anyway.
" Of course Steroids should be allowed! I wanna see 700 foot home runs and 90 yard field goals! I litterally want to see someone's d**k get shoved in the dirt!"

“Hope this one doesn’t come back to bite us.”
And the fact that this one comment alone, that it makes me laugh so hard and cry at the same time, tells me that I have been a Brown’s fan for a LOOOONG time. Sigh….
