Browns vs Vikings Post-game Analysis

I thought I'd kick off a thread for this as I want to see what some of the folks on this board think about today's game. Here are some of my take-aways:

Cheesy Bacon Fries

- The defense looked stingy against the run. I know the final game stats do not reflect this but at mid-game the Vikings had only ran for 43 yards and Peterson had only had 25 yards on 9 attempts. Not bad.
- Browns were in the lead at half-time.
- A lot less penalties than a typical game last year and no delay-of-games! Discipline was evident.

Chips and Dip

- Good pressure on the quarterback. 4 sacks racked up against Favre.
- Broke the touchdown drought.
- The Browns played 1 good half of football!
- Lots of breakdowns in pass blocking but not bad considering the Vikings have one of the best D-lines in the league.

Brussels Sprouts

- Quinn dumped off a lot and panicked at times. He threw some very sloppy mid-long range passes.
- The defensive secondary was out-of-position and beat badly most of the day
- The Browns running game was anemic. We stuck with things that didn't work.
- The wheels came off in the 3rd quarter.

So in the end it seems were were who we thought we were. The running game is going to hurt the offense a lot and the defensive secondary is going to give up some big plays against good teams. Quinn reminded me a lot of Fry when he was canned 2 years ago in favor of Anderson. If this were another year of Romeo we'd have a new quarterback named on Wednesday; thank heaven it isn't. As I've stated before, I think Anderson would have been the better choice but now that it has been made the Browns need to stick with Quinn. Hopefully he can calm down a bit and expand on what he did well.

Ya'll take it from here...
