This new guy is HUGE. The 08 draft really looks awful now
" Of course Steroids should be allowed! I wanna see 700 foot home runs and 90 yard field goals! I litterally want to see someone's d**k get shoved in the dirt!"

08 draft = 1/2 Brady Quinn, Shaun Rogers, Corey Williams, Alex Hall, Ahyuta Rubin (sp).
The Bell/Rucker/Hubbard (plus two pics) stretch seems like a definite series of blunders. However, no team “hits” 100% of the time. No team “hits” even 50% of the time. And in relative terms, the drawbacks of these three players and the lost two pics is wholly offset and then some by the acquisition of Rogers alone… Assuming all three really are bums (which I’m not ready to do, considering some of the already awful personnel decisions that have been made by this regime (St. Claire, 09 draft, etc), I still don’t have a problem with the 08 draft in theory. However, lack of continuity ruins any chance of having a good team, b/c new regimes are always quick to jettison unproven/untested holdovers.

I take a different approach with cut players. I assume a cut player is a bust or not good until they prove otherwise for another team. At that point, I reassess.
I think it’s rare you that you will find a player that was cut from one of the worst teams in the NFL have any sort of impact for someone else. I feel safe in calling Rucker, Bell, and Hubbard busts.
I stand by the St. Clair decision assuming it was a 1 year stopgag. I liked the idea of clearing out Shaffer’s salary now while we are rebuilding.
