New Browns GM Tom Heckert today dismissed all four members of the pro personnel department in the first step of a transition to a new front office. Heckert and Holmgren are expected to bring in mostly new people to work in their staff but the team's college scouts who have been working all season will stay through the draft (which makes a lot of sense). The four men let go were Steve Sabo, Keith O'Quinn, Jim Jauch and James Kirkland. Sabo is the last remaining football employee from the organization established by the NFL to run the Browns before Lerner was awarded the franchise. O'Quinn was hired by Mangini last year and the other two had been with the team since 2004.
