Your top back is nursing and injury and Harrison has been wildly ineffective with the little playing time he has gotten. James Davis represents a spark that this offense desperately needs, especially in the second half.
I guess I am just wondering how you know Davis is a spark. He hasn’t done anything in a real game yet
This is starting to feel like the TB game with the playcalling. Although it is obvious Hillis is hurting and Harrison has been ineffective. Need to see some Wildcat or some screens or something. We are way off throwing downfield.

I’m putting this in a game thread so I don’t have to warn myself.
Jake Delhomme is fucking garbage. I don’t understand why this front office/coaching staff thinks that he possesses the ability to be even mediocre at throwing the ball.
It was a shitty signing the day we made it and he hasn’t done shit since to make me change my mind.
You know how we laugh at the Cardinals for signing Derek Anderson? Panthers fans are doing the same damn thing at us for signing Delhomme.

Panthers are better off because they don’t have to waste playing time on Jake Delhomme.
If Jimmy Clausen does suck, and early indications show that’s possible, then they will have figured that out ASAP.
We gain nothing with Delhomme.

It’s hard to be effective when your best OL is either giving up sacks or contributing to a quickly collapsing pocket. It’s hard to say this and not be confused and extremely frustrated but Joe Thomas shoulders a decent portion of this loss.

Yikes is right. Looks like when healthy Wallace and Delhomme both bring some tangibles to the table. Weaknesses too, but both are better than last 2 years. McCoy might get a chance, though, if those guys can’t get healthy. Wallace must be really hurt to be worse option than Delhomme there at the end.
Can’t be any worse than Scapegoat, I mean Delhomme. He may be garbage but people are blaming crap on him that isn’t his fault.

That wasn’t even his fault. And I think he’s garbage. hard for ANYONE to do anything when your line is in your lap.
Moisture is the essence of wetness.
And it’s been in his lap all day.
"And the 2010 National League Central Division Champs are the Cincinnati Reds!" -- Marty Brennaman
So was it the line’s fault or was it his ankles? If its his ankle’s fault then why blame the line? Pick an excuse. Theyre getting old either way, but stick to one.
Moisture is the essence of wetness.
Dude, Wallace could get away from pressure (line’s fault) most of the time. Delhomme can’t get away from pressure even when he’s healthy, but right now he’s basically immobile. It’s both, not either or.
Troy knows this. He’s just being a dick.
"And the 2010 National League Central Division Champs are the Cincinnati Reds!" -- Marty Brennaman
Its frustrating when you have a guy whose a winner and people insist on giving the nod to a loser. Thats what we have with Wallace and Delhomme.
Moisture is the essence of wetness.
Wait a minute . . . which of those two is the “winner” and which the “loser” because I’m not really sure.
. . . says the man from Columbus.
by Buckeye Brad on Oct 10, 2010 4:04 PM EDT up reply actions
Sounds like all the more reason to start Wallace to me.
Idk what you guys have seen in Delhomme that you haven’t seen in Wallace that makes anyone think Delhomme is anything other than a back up.
Moisture is the essence of wetness.
Sure, healthy Wallace > injured Delhomme, and maybe even healthy Delhomme, but that remains to be seen, not a sure thing yet. Doesn’t really matter though, until one is healthy.
So say Delhomme and Wallace are both 100% come next Sunday. Who do you put in? Im genuinely curious, not trying to be a dick.
Moisture is the essence of wetness.
I’ll type slow for you. Wallace could get away from trouble resulting from a bad line because he had a healthy ankle and he is more of a scramblers anyways. Jake is not a scramblers to start with and has a bad ankle – none of which is news – so he can’t make up for poor line play.
Thats all well and good. Knowing this, Delhomme should not get the start, even when healthy, as he can not move as effectively to avoid the pass rush.
Moisture is the essence of wetness.
Doesn’t help when the pocket collapses the second you grab the ball.

Why does he need a talking to? He just had a bad game — it happens. What is a ‘talking to’ going to do to help?

It’s not just this game – it’s been a couple / few times in each game where he’s getting beaten like a screen door in a hurricane. And as far as the “talking to” goes, I certainly wouldn’t suggest benching him or attempting to slap the shit out of him. Both of which I was ready to suggest.

We’ve been talking about QBs for a while haha. Even before today we knew we’d be in the market for one. I dont think McCoy is the QBOTF.

Well, for one he’s not Holmgren’s guy. We basically just picked him because he fell so far as a value pick. Holmgren knows QBs and I trust Holmgren. That’s why I, personally, don’t think he’s the QBOTF.
Yup. Hopefully Moore gets some points. But the guy I’m playing has only 3 more players to go, while I have 5. And I’m up by 24.
