Rick Reilly--"Good, James Harrison. Please do retire." (source ESPN)

I was just checking up on the latest scores of last nights Manny U game and Blue Jackets highlights when I saw this gem on ESPN regarding "the Hits" from James Harrison. Rick Reilly is one of those sports journalist you respect from the first two articles he writes. I've read quite a bit from his viewpoints on the sporting world and I think this one is the best in the bunch. ESPN-Harrson

"You know what would geek me up? Harrison out of the game. Because as much as I abhor the way he plays, I don't want the day to come, 10 years from now, when he starts suffering depression and slurred speech and all the other goodies that come with these massive crashes. Because no amount of sleeping is going to make everything OK then."

Reilly takes the gloves off and tears into not just Harrison, but the other two hits leveled last Sunday. He even tears into the officiating crew(s) of the Browns/Steelers game for the lack of flagging to both games.

I don't know if anyone read this on Yahoo Sports yesterday, but Joe Pa from Penn State was even suggesting to take the grill off the helmets and just play with the helmet part. His thinking is a player would be less likely to grab or strike another player for fear of hurting them (or themselves) in the face.

This is a MUST READ because I think we are about to see a major change of the game. It may not happen today or tomorrow, but I think the game will either change for the better or it will stay quiet and more players will get rattled in the brain.
