Issue #2

Welcome to DBN Shoops (Week 8)! Just a quick reminder, DBN Shoops is a new weekly fanshot Photoshop contest. Click HERE if you don't remember how it works.

This week I decided to due a few different edits:
Brett Keisel's Injury Struggles - | - Original (Photo by Karl Walter)
Mike Tomlin Hates Kittens - | - Original (Photo by Matthew Sharpe)
Hines Ward vs. Karma - | - Original (Photo by Matthew Sharpe)

We want to see as many entries as we can, so if you have a really good idea for a different picture, we'll allow other photos to be edited as well, as long as they are from Week 8. Still, using the photos above is highly encouraged. This weeks contest will end when Issue #3 is posted for Week 9. Also, you don't have to enter to vote! Check out the shoops throughout the week and vote for (rec) your favorites!

Breakdown: When I first saw the original photo I used for “Brett Keisel’s Injury Struggles” I instantly knew what I was going for. I mean, c’mon the guy looks the part. Then I went to look for an image that had a reasonable scene and was fitting, using Google. After I found a good one, I matted out everything but Keisel’s head, placed it on the matching body. At that point it looked real enough, but was missing a certain flavor. I decided to add an aged photograph texture and set the layer type to “Hard Light” blending it in well. Lastly, a little touching up there it was.

You should befriend an art major who most likely gets it for free, than when you’ve built a good enough relationship, ask if you can install it through their username.

There are also free options if you want to just mess around in free time. They don’t call it Gimp for nothing though, it’s not nearly as expansive.

I must say as a Steelers fan

I enjoy all of these, Mostly because Kiesel has the greatest beard in quite some time and Mike Tomlin is a pure badass, I don’t think there is anything else that can be said about Hines that hasn’t been said already

Hines Ward’s off-season pastry pursuits aren’t going too well…
I couldn’t get this one to look quite the way I wanted it to, but I still think the idea is funny.

I also worked on this one a bit, but I don’t know enough about Good Sir Diesel to change the words to anything witty about him. He is pretty brawny, though :)

I’m going to revisit the concept here and likely make this a FanPost (rather than FanShot) from now on. It’s almost a crime letting people miss out on those latest 3 pictures.
