Poll: NFL Victory of the Week
This post is sponsored by Prilosec.
It's time for another NFL Victory of the Week poll. The Steelers might be worthy nominations this week. After coming off a bad looking loss to the New England Patriots, they dismantled the red-hot Oakland Raiders with ease.

SBN has at least two posts a week that are now sponsored. I mock it often.

If you see the official branding bar at the top of the post, it is sponsored.

I remember back when cable tv was first marketed by its absence of commercials. Apparently, there is no safe harbor from commercial intrusion. I was okay with the appearance of ads as long as it did not involve content within blogs. The next time anyone tells me I’m being paranoid, I’ll just laugh quietly.
I’ve already mentioned this to Chris, he didn’t like it.
Just wait for Captain Morgan’s Captain of the tailgate post… (I’m serious, it should be coming in a few days.)

You’re always welcome to pay Chris and SBN directly for the work they puts into the site.

This comment is way way out of line. I have no problem with advertising that falls short of involving itself with the content of blogs.
This is a sports blog, not a hard news blog. What does it matter if content is sponsored? If the concern is that the makers of Prilosec might rig the results of an internet poll, I’d suggest you find something worthwhile to worry about.

What if 10 more advertisers decide they want their own post about subjects that may or may not interest users? How much invasion are you willing to tolerate before you decide the din of commerciality has sufficiently compromised your willingness to be heard above that din?
here’s a hint: If they don’t interest people, they won’t sponsor them. that’s how advertising works.

Red hot Oakland Raiders?! There are no red hot west coast teams. It’s all just a bad dream – go back to sleep. Phillip Rivers is good but the Chargers still suck.

Big difference is that Buzz Lightyear doesn’t complain about everything.

I don’t deny but I still can’t stand him. He’s going to be a drama queen like Favre his whole career. Without all the INT’s of course….

I picked the Pats over the Colts.
That game always seems to decide home field advantage in the playoffs.
I agree. It always has a lot more meaning that some of these other more “meaningless” games (like Pitt over Oakland). Plus, I voted for what I thought was the best game, not the game where one team was just dominant. I thought that was the best game this week
