This may be once of the more stupid articles I have read in a while...
Note that Kosar and Snipe make the list...but the one that kills me is that Otto Graham makes the Top 10. How stupid is that? I never thought I would see someone OVERRATE him.

It had me laughing all the way through. What a joke.
It’s not a lie if you believe it.

The whole bleacherreport site appears to be a joke if you ask me.

It actually kinda pissed me off, then I realized the person was a complete hack and has ABSOLUTELY no idea how to value quarterbacks. the dude just looked at stats and seemed to throw intangibles out the window and completely disregarding teams around players (why archie manning’s record was so bad) and the difference in playing styles and eras (no one put up peyton manning #s in otto graham’s time). I guess I was just pissed off at the fact that every single good Browns QB was “overrated”.
there are a couple I agree with (dilfer, Carson Palmer, and his #1) but its definitely a terrible article.

your whole argument is a fallacy!
I’m curious who he thinks is the best of all time. I really only see Marino, Montana, Tom Brady and Payton Manning as eligible.
Also, as much as I hate to say it, John Elway probably deserves a lot of the credit given to him now. I think overrated is a bit unfair.
And another thing, does anyone honestly think that Jason Campbell, Jay Cutler, or Jake Plummer were ever elite. A player has to be highly rated to be overrated.
I’m done venting and will now accept that this was just a horribly written peace.

the problem is that the guy looks purely at statistics. in a statistics standpoint, Elway would be massively overrated. However, there may not be 5 QBs in history I would more want when the game is on the line.

I believe its a good argument for the passer rating being overrated as a rating of QBs. There’s far more to leading a team, managing the clock, using your tools properly, instilling trust in your teammates, than pure passing. Perhaps these guys weren’t the most prolific passers in history. And perhaps it doesn’t mean they were overrated as QBs. The one about Kenny Anderson still has me scratching my head. That guy was a tremendous passer.
