a Delhomme [a·del·homme·] -noun
1. an interception that is returned for a touchdown
2. a useless, drive killing checkdown pass
I’m not sure what exactly is going wrong, it just looks like poor execution all around. I think it’s hardly fair to blame it on Delhomme. If people are going to blame one player, at this point it’s Hillis.

2. a useless, drive killing checkdown pass
he’s put the ball on the ground three times and is lucky to have only lost one. Also, until someone can tell me how this is Delhomme’s fault I’m not gonna bother with that crap.

I don’t blame Delhomme directly. He doesn’t have receivers that can get open. And I guess, it’s not his fault he sucks, maybe.
It’s on Daboll. Definitely not on Hillis. If you want to claim fumbles, well he lost just as many as Delhomme, the other didn’t affect the drive at all, and the other one was forced by the ground but went in the boxscore as a fumble anyway. And we recovered the groundforced fumble also.
How the hell do you think it’s on Hillis more than anyone else?

It’s that easy. If there is even a .00000001% chance it is a fumble, pick it up. You don’t have to hit anyone, the ball is right there. Pick it up.

the dumpoffs were his fault. the decision to throw the dumpoff when hillis was pretty heavily covered was his fault. Some of his decisions on passes (like the deep pass to royal who sucks when they showed in the replay that Momass was more open a yard pass the 1st down marker) are his fault.
These are IMO the “good reasons to rag on the guy” as you said. Even if these plays are made, we still probably lose, but we would at least have a better shot at winning. He was not the reason we lost but some of his decisions did contribute to it.

I also am not sure. maybe our guys weren’t getting open deep. It is still upsetting to see so many dumpoffs and poor decision making. The only 2 I can conclusively blame were the play where I saw MoMass somewhat open (for a 1st) and he passed it so Royal who sucks, and the play at the end of the 1st half. Maybe there were guys guarded downfield on the latter play, but then force it in. I would rather him try to force it deep in that situation than take a 3 yard dumpoff.

It would be about the context in which you are referring to them.
I thought the first drive’s run-to-pass playcalling ratio was fine, that’s why we made it to the goalline.
Thus, I liked the playcalling on that individual drive. (I’d have preferred to go for it on 4th though)
An every other individual drive, I think the ratio didn’t involve enough running.
What’s wrong with that? Essentially that is just a more in depth explanation of “Yup, it’s 20 pass to 16 run after the first drive. That is awful.”
a Delhomme [a·del·homme·] -noun
1. an interception that is returned for a touchdown
2. a useless, drive killing checkdown pass
but if you take out the couple last minute drives where we would have been insane to not pass, the ratio is still heavily skewed to running the ball. I feel ok taking those drives out because they aren’t indicative of the overall game plan.

I see what your saying, I still think we could have run the ball more despite the total run/pass ratio.
There were key third and shorts and other situations that just seemed crazy not to run… and we didn’t run. Bottom line, Daboll isn’t good.
I’m not sure if you’ll agree or not there, but if not, at this point we’ll have to agree to disagree.
a Delhomme [a·del·homme·] -noun
1. an interception that is returned for a touchdown
2. a useless, drive killing checkdown pass
and there were times in the 2nd half when we passed on 1st down and either got a dumpoff screen or an incomplete, so we are passing twice in a row and passing on and 8-10…It seemed like whenever we passed from 2nd and 8, it would be an incompletion and whenever it was 2nd and 10, it was a short 2 yard dumpoff. and of all our 1st down pass plays (I remember probably about 5), I remember only one PA pass.
I agree, the playcalling was puzzling.

I didn’t think our Pass D was awful per se. they weren’t great, but they weren’t particularly awful. Fitzpatrick is also a good QB and we let him have all day at times. I mean, with all their O-Line problems, we had trouble getting into the backfield to stop the run and we had trouble getting to the QB. I think that is more telling of the front 7 than the secondary.
I don’t see the special teams play being Awful. Hodges was good enough for it to be at least upraded to decent. I know we let spiller get a big kick return, but he is a good returner and we weren’t terrible on punts (below average would be a good way to describe it). We also did well when he got the ball on kick returns.

Coverage unit was I would say league average. If our coverage performed like that all year, we would be maybe a click or two below average (at worst). CJ spiller is a good returner and we have been spoiled b/c our coverage teams are great every week. I don’t see them as contributing anything significant to the loss.

The only positive is that I had Fred Jackson on my fantasy team…I know, I know, F$*K you go root for buffalo. I am just depressed and trying to find some positive for today. If this week keeps playing out like it is, I actually might make the playoffs in the UDBNL.

I don’t think so. There are 2 spots open and if Drexel Dawg loses, and I win, I am in. Drexel Dawg, Me, and Brown note are tied at 8-5. If I beat Brown note, and drexel dawg loses, I will be ahead of both and be 4th. Right now I love CJ2K
