DBN Fantasy Football League: Championship Sunday
It has been a long, entertaining season of fantasy football in the Official Dawgs By Nature Fantasy Football League. After 15 weeks, only two teams remain standing for this week's championship match. Which two teams are represented in the championship?
TheDriveStillHurts (#5, 6-7 record) vs. rufio (#2, 9-4 record)

TDSH has been carried by QB Michael Vick this season, and he has depended on our rival AFC North running backs to get this far in the postseason. So far, TDSH had a disappointing effort from his Cowboys defense.
rufio's quarterback situation and team overall doesn't appear particularly strong, but the fact is that week in and week out, his team just seems to get the job done. rufio has a lot of depth, but he is hoping that his situational decisions will carry him this week. He is sitting Eli Manning, Santonio Holmes, Derek Mason, and Donald Driver in favor of David Garrard, Jeremy Maclin, Santana Moss, and Steve Johnson. Will that decision pay off?
Because of Vick, my money is on TDSH to come away with the victory. That's what the power of a pickup like Vick gets you.
Competing in the third-place match this week are Buckeye Brad and golanbatrac. Golanbatrac was the No. 1 seed and Brad was the No. 3 seed.

I am honestly surprised I am still in this thing. Obviously my team doesn’t have a lot of guys who are going to consistently put up a bajillion points, but I’ve just been able to get Ws.
Frank Gore and Ryan Grant going down for the year has hurt me (especially in late season matchups vs Brad and Golan), and I didn’t see it but it sounded like Tolbert went down with a pretty serious injury earlier today.
I figure Roddy White probably puts up 13 against the Saints, so I am hoping McCoy and Maclin can outscore Vick. Not looking likely, IMO.

It’s any mans game right now. I like yor chances —
Vick + R White – 13pts < L McCoy + Maclin? Not an easy call.

I’ve had the opposite season as you. Basically, my entire team I am starting today is the same starters I drafted except for K & D. The only exception is QB but he is directly traceable to my decision to take a risk on Kevin Kolb — when he went down after the first game I picked up Vick as a spot starter for the next week. This was by far the best draft I have ever had.
Also, unlike you, I COULDN’T get wins. I had the second hughest points total in the regular season and consistently scored a ton of points but it seemed like everyone I played had great games against me and I barely made it to th e playoffs.

Your points for total vs. W-L record was outrageous at one time. Looking a little more evened out now (points actually resulting in wins). My points for are very low for someone in the finals—again, I am surprised I am here.

A team with a losing record can make it to the championship in a 10 man league?
a Delhomme [a·del·homme·] -noun
1. an interception that is returned for a touchdown
2. a useless, drive killing checkdown pass
There were only three teams with a winning record in the league, and they were all in the same division.
Dawgs by Nature -- where Hitler, apparently, 'did some good things'.
Oh I see, divisions. Not at all a fan of divisions.

Can you not read? Divisions are not the point. The league beat up on each other and only three teams had winning records. I easily make the playoffs without divisions. Sorry your season didn’t work out but don’t hate on me for it. I had and still have a great team that was the result of a killer draft for me. And to get this far in a league of very knowledgeable fans is an accomplishment I am proud of.

I left this comment at 1:40 PM PST. You then described to me that would have made the playoffs without divisions at 3:42 PM PST, a response to a comment I made at 1:52 PM PST. Three minutes later, 3:45 PM PST, you leave this comment responding to my comment from 1:40, as if I should have read your comment 3:42 PM PST. I guess I can’t read… what has yet to be posted.

I was wrong to think it was the divisions (however, I’d really like to see how it really broke down), it was the playoff system. I just think the 4 team championship playoff-4 team consolation playoff system is much better for fantasy football leagues with less than 16 teams. That would put you, 6-7, in the consolation.
Sorry your season didn’t work out but don’t hate on me for it.
I’m not hating on you. If I’m hating on anything it’s the playoff system. But if you really want to talk sh*t with a player who wasn’t even in the same league, hell, lets go for it. For your information, I had one hell of a season. I had the best record in the league (11-3) and I’m currently winning the championship game. I’ve made amazing starts all season long to get to here and I made a few great starts to be winning this very close championship game.

Stop kidding yourself guy, two words can describe how you got got here: Mike Vick. I don’t know much about your team or league outside of the graphic above, but I can see that Mike Vick carried you to the playoffs and carried you through them.
This, and you still couldn’t manage to pull out a winning record.

I had the second highest point total in the league. A 12 man league by the way.

I had a higher point total than half of the people ahead of me. But with a 3-11 record, and last, it clearly showed point total alone doesn’t mean much.
A 12 man league makes it even worse than had it happened in a 10. In the UDBNFL, 14 man, no one less than 9-5 could make the playoffs. Only one team with a losing record even made the consolation, (playoffs for 5th place).

I’m not trying to attack you or your fantasy skill in anyway.
It’s the divisions that I disagree with.

I would have made the playoffs without divisions so your point is moot.
