RB’s everywhere are getting booted.
If you're at the table and you don't see a sucker..... you're it.
Dorn’s pass does not apply here. I’d take him

Why would we want anything to do with a RB that will be 32 this season?

If he can be signed for cheap then he’d be a good backup to Harrison and provide insurance in case either Harrison gets hurt or James Davis sucks. I don’t see anything wrong with signing him to a 1-year contract if he’ll take that.
Agreed. I can imagine he’ll hold out for more years if teams get desperate, but if we can land him for a short and cheap deal, he’d be a nice accent to Harrison. We also don’t want to wear out Harrison faster by giving him every carry, as we’ve seen in the past, can shorten a RB’s (effective) career span significantly.
I guess I am in the minority, but all I see is a 32 YO RB that is being replaced by the Jets. Jones has been solid but far from spectacular.
Haven’t we had enough of the old RB’s here? I really don’t care if he is cheap or not, I want a young RB. I would rather use a draft pick and use the law firm of Harrison, Davis and Dwyer.

How is 1,400 yards not spectacular or at least close to it at the age of 31.
And you’re always in the minority.

You think a guy who was benched at the end of the season was spectacular? Shonn Greene stepped in and was much more dangerous. The average YPC for the NFL last season was 4.2. Thomas Jones YPC last season was 4.2, and that doesn’t even factor in that Jones was running behind a very good run blocking OLine.
Once again, he is solid but not spectacular.
I guess my bar for spectacular is much higher than yours.
And you’re always in the minority.
The point of this statement would be what?

I was just pointing out you being in the minority.
And of course Greene was better. He’s young, fresh and lethal.
That doesn’t explain your resentment toward Jones.

Everything Jones isn’t.

Is there a gas leak in here or something or was that fairly obvious?

You don’t always have to be talking down to people.
Those are the reasons we shouldn’t want Jones. We need to get younger at RB not older (Jones is older than Jamal).

I just have an extremely sarcastic tone regardless of what I’m speaking of.
But, we have two RBs now and wouldn’t be against drafting one. But what’s wrong with picking up an old RB who’s still got a few productive years left who is also better than Jamal at an older age? If he takes a cheap contract, then no harm no foul.

I see running backs as easily expendable. I’d rather upgrade other parts of our team in this draft and worry about getting a solid RB in a year or two. Running back is a position that can step in and play right away so that’s something we can get when we have other pieces around them.
I can understand this, and if I had my choice between Dwyer and a lineman/OLB/CB in the second round I would opt for the former. But I do love me some Dwyer though.
But this draft is deep in the RB position. I would really like to leave this draft with one. I should have named the lawfirm Harrison, Davis and Rookie.
Again, I am not against signing a FA back either (Chris Snelling of the Falcons maybe?), I am just not in favor of signing one that is going to be 32. There are too many decent backs in the NFL to go chasing after older ones.

So in that choice you’d still take Dwyer?
…That makes no sense.

It’s obvious by his wording that he meant latter and not former.

Thank you. My mistake.
I meant latter.

I tend to be skeptical of RBs at this age, but if we tried and failed to upgrade the RB position and could have Jones for a 1 year deal on the cheap, I’d be okay with it.
Haha!

Mangini will make a run at him I bet

If Mangini were still making all the personnel decisions, I would actually guess that the Browns were the likely landing spot for Jones. Doubt this is the case now.
Schefter tweets Browns one of 4 possible suitors.
I’d think preference would be SD unless they try to lowball him on an offer. At 32 and still fairly productive, I’d think he’s looking for one last decent payday, maybe a 3-year deal.
