Quinn and 2nd round pick to Broncos for Marshal
Why not? I'm not a browns fan, actually can't stand them, but what I long for is the Browns to return to respectability. I would for once like to see this team make some good moves in free agency. I wan't to see the AFC North return to it's rightful place as the most difficult division in the NFL.
This trade would swap some similar contracts, though Marshal will be needing a restructuring of his deal, but provide Denver at least an equal QB to Orton, and give them a 2nd round pick. It's not like Cleveland doesn't have 11 picks in the draft this year. Marshal is certainly worth that kind of deal, and though I could see Marshal possibly having a problem with Mangini, I think Holmgren would put him in his place.
I'm not trolling here, just wanted to hear what you guys think about this trade idea. And Yes, I know that yinz hate Denver more than anyone cept the Steelers and Ravens, but I'd be happy if my Steelers made a trade with you guys for Joe Thomas.

Please add a question mark to the end of future fanpost titles about prospective trades. My blood pressure will appreciate it. Thanks!

I had the same reaction.

After Delhomme, I won’t automatically dismiss anything like this.

No thanks.
I’m all for trading Quinn for as much as we can get, but not for a WR drama queen like Marshall. I’m also not interested in losing a second rounder for him. There’s a lot of value in those picks, in that you can land potential steals at an extremely affordable price.
At first, I was going to say “absolutely not”. However, on second thought… Maybe. If Mangini and Holmgren thought they could keep him in check and get rid of his off-field problems, then I would support this.
Quinn’s as good as gone already. I’m a big Quinn fan, but if we could get a Pro Bowl caliber reciever for a backup QB and a rookie, do it. Marshall is one of the few recievers in the league that can truly take over a game every now and then. He’s also a great fit in a West Coast system because he’s so good after the catch.
However, if Mangini and Holmgren have any doubts about his character then it’s no deal.

Yup. It’s not even close . . . I’d do this in a second.
But the Broncos would never make this trade.

As a long time Browns fan I am excited as ever Holmgren came to town. He will finally teach this organization how to buid a team through the draft. He understands Delhomme is not a long term solution, but him and Wallace can hold down the fort until we repair many holes and sign our QB of the future from the draft. I think Holgren has done nicely so far. Do think 2011 or by 2012 we will be a respected team.
YIIKKEESSS!!!!
When I said this the other day it sure wasn’t for marshall and we were not giving a 2nd pick. We were giving Quinn and receiving a 2nd. I think some people are way over stating Marshall’s value and underestimating Quinn’s.
Animadvertistine, ubicumque stes, fumum recta in faciem ferri?
Well looks like you won’t be getting our 2nd, and for the record I think you guys got fleeced.

Alright dude.
I think Brandon Marshall is a Bronco for life, from the days before Josh McDaniels. He may be a diva, but he´s earned the diva designation. I think it´s something the Broncos must come to terms with.
Now that the trade has gone down, contrary to some of the comments here, we have not traded a backup, but a guy that was deemed capable of starting somewhere else. I remember the game, where the Broncos got their first good look at this guy. Monday Night in 07, where he did manage to light things up going toe to toe with Jay Cutler. Now, from my experiences on the Broncos forum, I know that most of the fans are good honest folks given a chance. I for one, had offered Anderson and Quinn for no collateral, because they had conspired to sit on our mutual nerve every year. Looks like we got that, basically, and I am happy.
What we did get, two measly picks, well for naught.
And then we get a guy that was revered as a demi-god in Denver, only a year ago. A stubborn, not spectacular fullback, Peyton Hillis. He got perks for showing that a fullback can play like a halfback, I guess that didn´t last too long.
But heck, the buggards are gone. Thank you. And don´t do us the favor of making him fail. The cocoon will blossom into a butterfly, with care and attention.

Don´t count on the detritus of people around here to second it, but he has mooncamping´s full wishing well. There will be proponents that will maximize the odds, that his dismal statistics recently, will find continuation. You have my full approval, not to treat him like a Patriots robot quarterback in servitude of system yardage accumulation.
I’ll second the mooncamping collective on the well wishes, really.
