Next Up on the Tradining block....
Trading two former first rounders for a 3rd, 6th, Conditional and FB/RB isn't a good ROI. I'm surprised that we couldn't have done better for Wimbley considering the Raiders gave NE a 1st rounder for Richard Seymour, a guy that's been in the league for 10 years and has been less 'productive' in terms of sacks then Wimbley.
Do the Browns trade any other players? The only one I can think of is Big Shaun Rogers. The Browns would probably do it if they could get at least a 3rd rounder for him and with 9 years in the league he likely won't be around/effective when the Browns are competitive in a 'few' years.
Of all the positions our new leadership understands it's the QB. The door is open for the Browns to pick the new/next attempt at a franchise QB in this years draft. There are at least 5-6 QBs that have potential and not a ton of teams looking to draft one, so hopefully we can pick one in the 2nd or 3rd round that ends up working out.
Overall I'm looking forward to seeing what the draft holds and how the rest of the off-season moves go.

Richard Seymor is three to four times the player Wimbley is, and I like Wimbley.

Sunk Costs.
I’m surprised that we couldn’t have done better for Wimbley considering the Raiders gave NE a 1st rounder for Richard Seymour, a guy that’s been in the league for 10 years and has been less ‘productive’ in terms of sacks then Wimbley.
One is an outside linebacker, another is a defensive tackle who played in a 2—gap system. Wimbley should have even more sacks than Seymour than he does.
I’m all for trading Shaun Rogers, but not for a 3rd round pick. With 12 picks in this draft already, I’d begin exploring 2011 options. We are starting to get to the point where roster space becomes as issue.
exactly. looking at trading Kamerion Wimbley and Brady Quinn a la 2009, we got good deals.
Yes on the seymour thing. Seymour was drafted as a DT. he played DT in college. he is a 3-4 DE and can play DE in a 4-3 (which I think he did this year) but that is out of position. that is like Wimbley moving to the inside (ILB). Wimbley SHOULD have way more sacks. the goal of a guy like seymour is to get the occasional sack and take up blockers.
Lets just trade off the first 30 players for draft picks and just go all brand new. Oh, sorry, I was just reading the Browns master plan for the next 3 years. If the player is any good, we need to trade them, since we can’t ever have a winner here. I’m so tired of the Browns losing, and I just don’t see anything different happening in the next 3 years.
Hey Special – I’m out, tired of looking for, talking about, or seeing anything browns. I’ve spent years upon years as a fan, taking all the wisecracks, and looking forward to “Next Year”. I’m just can’t do it anymore.
Bye

Take a couple of months off, J.W. Forget about the team as much as you can, concentrate on other things in your life. It’ll still be here when you’re less stressed and feel ready to take it on as the entertainment it’s supposed to be….

This is the classic viewpoint of the fan for whom its the destination and not the journey. If one needs to associate themselves to a winner to enjoy football, switch allegiances to whatever team is loaded. Eventually, you’ll be back when the Browns have their time. It’s okay, you got what you needed from the experience.

It’s funny how many time I have felt like this. I don’t know how old J.W. is but I will assume he has been a Browns fan longer than I. I think this is the best part of being a Browns (Cleveland) fan in general. It is so hard to root for them after losing most of the time. But for me it builds it up for those great moments. Like beating the Steelers last year felt like a Super Bowl win. I feel sorry for fans that follow only the teams that are winning. They never can experience the true joy of when their team does something. I live for the day any Cleveland team wins a championship because I know for me it will be the best day of my life and no “band wagoner” will ever feel the way I will feel on that day.
I can’t speak for you J.W. but I know for me sticking with a team through the worst of times will make the best of times feel that much more amazing. I hope you stay a Browns fan.

I remember I was at my Aunt’s funeral and my cousins were watching TV in the other room and it was on ESPN Classic and “The Drive” was on. I still remember how pissed my Uncle from the other side of the family was and told my cousin to turn it off immediately.
It couldn’t have been that they were watching ESPN at a funeral?

I’m aware of this, but it did not originate in America. It was widely used as early as the 1500s, and Jonathan Swift popularized it in his satirical writings.
seriously?
I thought it was maybe one of the most common idioms we use in english?
It is considered an idiom but is also considered a proverb too and I was reading it has been a proverb for over 500 years. Where are you from that you have never heard it?
I teach good life choices. That’s why I almost didn’t graduate High School.
No it’s not really that common, some you hear every day, I’ve only heard that one once or twice before you and now that I think about it, it was probably in an old movie.

I just wanted to say thanks to jsneides, nice comments are you aren’t too far off. The Sipe years, and RR88 killed me, sipe leaving, and Kosar coming . I had my hoped another 2nd coming (kosar part duex) was gonna happen with BQ – hopes dashed way too many times when it comes to the Browns.
I will just work on my house, & garden now, guess I should take some b4 & after pics. I guess I can blame the browns for spending too much on my Casa.

I was revisiting Moon’s first list. He actually did a great job despite our bewildered responses.
Those he included on the nay list, who are no longer with the Browns include: DA, Quinn, Braylon Edwards, Steptoe, Donte Stallworth, Corey Williams, Kamerion Wimbley, Jamal Lewis, Rex Hadnot, Ryan Tucker, Martin Rucker, and Leon Williams.
Only Fraley and Pool are notable players gone from the yay list.

You all know I like 6´3 and wiry for cornerback, and I thought Brodney Pool fit the mold. The deterent on him as it turns out is that he´s not fast and agile enough, not the concussion proneness.
I am indeed sad about Hank Fraley´s departure, he´s been a highly underrated player throughout his NFC championship Philadelphia Eagles days and with the Browns as a center. I think he would have found his calling for a few more years at guard. His success in my book at center only shows that a great guard can do alright at center, which also seems to be Alex Mack´s fate. But the tail of the tape unfortunately shows Hank Fraley played only 10 games for us last year, so what´s the point?
The front office has not impressed me so far.
The nay list includes Jerome Harrison, Lawrence Vickers, D’Quell Jackson, Brian Robiskie, and Ryan Pontbriand. Harrison and Vickers, along with the o-line, are the entire offense right now. And Ryan Pontbriand is the only player on the team who I can say with confidence will spend his entire career in Cleveland. Moon got more right than wrong, but some of the wrongs are really, really, wrong.
