Thadius Gibson flying up draft charts
Ohio State had their pro day and Thadius Maximus did not disappoint. He ran a 4.5. Add in the fact that he was a cut 250 and you have the makings of a monster. Here is a quote from Elevenwarriors.com who was at the Pro Day (the info is in the middle of the page after some BBall stuff. Other Buckeyes times are listed as well):
DE/LB Thad Gibson, always known as a workout warrior, wowed some scouts, and even Strength and Conditioning Coach Eric Lichter, by posting an (unofficial) 4.51 40-yard dash (other reports had Gibson running a 4.59). OSU is certainly known for its fast track, and the times were done by hand, but some scouts couldn’t hide their astonishment/glee.
Gahnki has been driving this bandwagon and he looks all sorts of smart now.
I was hoping for Thad in the 3rd, it sounds like it is second rounder or nothing for him now.

That isn’t direct quote, and I still will bet with you that he doesn’t go there

I like the sound of this! The winner better start thinking of ways to make the loser really pay for it.
Please explain. I don’t understand what you are saying?

We will set up a candidate list and let the public vote on your new signature. You can do the same if you’d like.
Ok, just don’t take it too far

Are you going to follow through with this bet? Because you never did with our bet about how many games ND won last season.

OK, what was that bet cuz I forgot about that?

Well here was the start of this wager.
Then it went here for the finish.
You have some writing to do TRSS.
I think he should have some sort of USC logo as his new avatar.

No, no, no. When he starts posting at Mile High, he needs to sport a Raiders avatar.

Make an avatar out of the photo of Greg Oden’s penis.

Dude. You have got a weird obsession with penises, Tim Tebow, Troy Smith and exploding pants.

^ Everything after ‘penises’ is redundant.

I was assuming they were correlated somehow.

wow…seriously only one loss???? A homer pick if I ever saw one.
btw, B19K, I love the calling of weis (I am guessing) “coach frontbutt”

We weren’t as far from that as it might look. Everygame we lost was won in almost the last second. And there were a few VERY questionable calls.

sounds like the talk of a sore loser personally.
it takes a good team to win the close games. decent teams get close but the good or great teams win the close ones. and you can always find a questionable call that goes against your team…the other team can probably do the same in the same game!

I still worry. he has great physical tools but has not been that big of an impactful player in college. in 3 seasons he only has 10 sacks with a career high of 5 as a sophmore. i always worry about workout warrior guys who don’t produce significantly in college. I would not draft him before the third personally.

If Ohio State wanted him to rack up sacks, you could name a number and he’d have those sacks. They are a “do your job” defense. Look at this video of two games. Look at 3.33. Thad did what is referred to in the scouting world as “tracking.” It’s a linebacker skill that involves read-react-run skills.
Now, I know the obvious comparison is Gholston, but they are really two very different players. The only thing they have in common is an alma mater and being undefeated against Michigan.
Hes a good player and very athletic but not the dominant rusher off the edge. I don’t really see it. Jerry Hughes has all the athleticism he has but has been vastly more productive in college. Sacks are a stat that do translate well to the NFL.

Depends. Hughes played in a very aggressive scheme at TCU against talent that was vastly inferior to his. His numbers should be higher.
I think Hughes is a good player too, though.
Yeah, I’m sure they didn’t want him to get sacks

well when I watch him in a game he doesn’t appear to get much pressure when he is sent. JMO

A guy who knows just a little about defense:
Alabama coach Nick Saban wants to get one thing straight: Sacks aren’t the measure of a defense, they just look pretty on the stat sheet.
Sacks have nothing to do with winning, nothing at all," he said afterward. "There’s no stat in the NFL that says how many sacks you’re getting contributes to winning. It’s good to affect the quarterback. We affected the guy because he was throwing it so fast, we couldn’t sack him. To me, that’s affecting the quarterback, is it not? You can’t hold it to throw down the field.
I watched the video. when he was asked to rush the passer he did look great.
I also watched a video of JPP and I wasn’t impressed. he got pushed around by selvish capers and the only player he dominated was a 255 pound RT who was a 1 star DE recruit and a RS Junior (and only had about 2-3 years experience playing on the offensive line)
