I think the best thing this does is give the browns a little more leverage on a trade up. If Haden looks like a better prospect in the #7 slot, then the browns have a plausible alternative to trading up.

“Joe Haden looked good in position drills and displayed tremendous ball skills. His footwork was smooth and very fluid. Haden’s 40 time may have been a bit slower than we first reported. A number of scouts have since told us their watches read 4.52 when Haden crossed the line, as opposed to the 4.45 we initially reported.”
This is really bad. Most people greatly improve their pro day 40s

My views on Haden are well known, and a 40 time isn’t going to change that.
Same goes for Brandon Spikes. He may not the fastest player out there, but the guy is a rock solid ILB who makes plays. Would be thrilled with him in the third.
I’d draft Spikes purely based on the chance he might try to gouge Big Ben’s eye out!

you know…I dare to say this…we all have talked about Bradford, Claussen, and Lefevour in the draft. I’ve stated that it seemed the browns are interested atleast in Lefevour, but you know sometimes the one not mentioned, is not mentioned for a reason by FO people. Maybe we draft Tebow? He did improve his throwing and mechanics it appears from that thread. All we have heard about the kid from the FO is basically, “yes, he is a special player”. Hmmmm, I wonder if Mike see’s something to work with in him?

He is slowly starting to turn me…they briefly speak of Holmgren’s thoughts at the end of this video

So he’s growing on you, like a fungus?

pretty much…I couldn’t stand the kid thru college, but every time he opens his mouth to talk I’m slowly getting a bromance going on? He’s getting inside my head d@mn it! However, if he improved his mechanics as much as critics are saying in 6wks, he could be groomed to be a starter in this league.

that’s all tebow is. a fungus. even if he improves his motion and throwing mechanics and looks at least a little comfortable taking a snap under center, and even with his intangibles, I still would not take him with our pick in the 2nd…probably with one of ours in the third, but I still would rather have other QBs b/c I am unimpressed with a lot about him.

I’d risk a late 3rd on him.

I would too. I am not saying he is a horrible player. I just don’t want to waste signficant value on him. in the 2nd round we can get a corner, pass rusher, safety, or possibly a 5 tech that has the ability to start from Day 1.

I don’t mind Tebow if it is in the third.
He is a project that will take time. Lots of it. Third round draft pick is worth the risk.
I would rather have McCoy in the second though.

I’ve really liked tebow as a player and I think he could be a steal in the early third. If I was going to bet on any one player from this draft to maximize his potential I’d probably bet on Tebow. I have a feeling Holmgren is very interested in the kid and he could be a steal in the late second / early third. Long story short I think if anyone could thrive in the role of “savior” of Cleveland (the role that has proven to be too much pressure for many a quarterback) it would be God’s Grandson, Tim Tebow.
I think the best possible outcome from this draft is: Eric Berry, Kareem Jackson, Tim Tebow, Andre Roberts in that order, and if I was the Browns brass I would be willing to trade a few picks to make that happen.

All of this.
I really doubt Tebow lasts that long.

yes, I see him going in middle of the 2nd round or so…he’s just too likable for some team not to take him here.

okay. found an article on bleacher report saying we should pass up berry and take haden b/c haden plays CB…oh yeah. I forgot Berry doesn’t have the ability to play corner….
this guy is a complete idiot
Repeating myself, Leslie Frazier and Mike Richardson in Chicago and Chris McAlister and Duane Starks helped Mike Singletary and Ray Lewis make it to the Hall of Fame, respectively. I know, Lewis isn’t there yet, but he will be there. Do you really want to argue this point
Yep. without Frazier or McCalister, neither singletary nor lewis would be HOFers…we all know that the CBs are more important than the other positions combined and the success at other positions has to be credited to them.

sorry to whomever this writer is…but I take Berry any day over Haden at #7

Other reports are putting Haden anywhere from 4.39 to 4.42.
Really, I don’t think it matters a lot. He is the best DB in the draft, but not worth our pick.

If that’s the case, I like the idea of trading down and taking him later in the first while gaining more picks or other potential assets.
At some point we really have to trade up. 12 picks.

In mooncamping´s world he´s a free safety, a classic flanker maybe. Can he catch? He looks tenacious.
