Browns have Tebow, Kurt Coleman on their radar.
Meh on the first. Yay on the second.
I said in the most recent Around the Pound that I guess I'd be okay with getting Tebow in the 3rd round. Looking back, I don't know why I said that. Sure, there's some intrigue but the Browns don't have a lot of room for drafting based on intrigue this year. I'd prefer LeFevour or McCoy to Tebow.

I think we are going to pull the trigger and trade one of our later 3rd picks as part of a package to move up into the second and take McCoy or more likely Tebow.
If we got him in the third I would be really happy but It would be a huge risk to wait while New England has 3 picks in the second and any pick could potentially become a Jacksonville pick in a trade. If Holmgren thinks hes the guy, I’m sold.
In Holmgren we trust.

It’s my fervent hope that we use those threes to move up into the first and nab Iupata, but your scenario is more likely.

Funny you mention Jacksonville and New England.
Jacksonville don’t have a second or seventh rounder this season. Why? Because they traded their second round pick to NE last year at the draft for the Pats ’09 3rd round pick, and their seveth rounder for Luke McCown.
I bring this up for two reasons.
1. Jacksonville only has 5 picks in this draft and do not have the ammo to trade back into the second round unless they go into the ’11 draft and that would probably take multiple late picks or their first rounder. Either way, I doubt this would get done.
2. This is why you ALWAYS trade a 3rd for a 2nd or a 4th for a 3rd like we discussed previously.

I don’t think its a bad idea at all. its not like I’m saying I don’t want to do it. I’m sure Heckert will take advantage of an opportunity like that if it presents himself. It’s tough to do something like that when your team has so many holes you don’t have the luxury to put picks off. Remember the article you posted was about the #85 pick in the third round. Coincidentally the Browns are in possession of that very same pick. If we can make a move after our first 3 picks I’m all for it.
However, if our next franchise quarterback is in this draft, you have to get him. QB is too important. Likewise the Jags could possibly feel that it is justified to sell out their 2011 draft to get Tebow, who could possibly sell out their stadium for two seasons and recoup Wayne Weaver the $200 million he lost this year and keep the team in Jacksonville long enough for him to sell the team. He could be that valuable to that team.
