Saw this on www.slickdeals.net. I know a lot of people have commented about not having Insider access, so I figured I'd post this. Getting the magazine should get you Insider access.

Are you sure about the Insider access? I know this used to be the case, but from what I could tell, purchasing Insider grants you a free subscription to the magazine, but subscribing to the mag does not grant you Insider access.
Can anyone who becomes a new subscriber to ESPN the Mag confirm this?

I’ve never really checked out ESPN Magazine and Insider. To those who have it, is it worth it?

Ehh, it’s ok. Insider is really overrated in my opinion. The magazine’s cover pieces are usually interesting, but the rest is not that great. For that price, I’d say go ahead.
Insider is great for certain things. If you’re really interested in the NFL and NBA draft they have a ton of information and scouting reports for both drafts in Insider. And most of John Hollinger’s NBA articles and some of his stats — which are really good — are Insider material. I initially got Insider to read Rob Neyer’s baseball stuff but he’s not Insider any more. I think most of Keith Law’s stuff is, though, and he’s pretty good as well.
Overall, for as little as it costs I think it’s definitely worthwhile if you like those certain authors or love reading about draft prospects. I never read the magazine when I got it so I finally got it sent to my younger brother. You can also get it sent to a soldier overseas if you don’t want the magazine.

Yea, I primarily read the guys you mentioned. Keith Law is easily the best thing ESPN’s baseball coverage has going, while a lot of the quality scouting and draft information is through insider.
The rumor mill is terrible which is Insider only. It’s kind of sad that they market it as one of the main features of having insider access.
