D'Qwell wants a new deal. Now.
Where have we heard this before? Player is promised a new contract by an employee that is no longer with team, yet holds the new front office responsible.
As for DQ, I hope someone is stupid enough to give up a first rounder for him (As a RFA, he is expected to have the first rounder tender placed on him by Friday).

Situation is different and D’Qwell will have to live with getting the 1st round tender. No other teams will bite on that, and they will have the rest of the offseason to negotiate a longer-term contract or he can play out his restricted year to become an unrestricted next year. No reason to gripe from his agent especially when the player just underwent surgery.
I don’t care about DQ. Let someone take him, give us a First round pick!

I see this whole free agency period as a big freeze. I don’t think many teams will part with draft picks to sign players considering the high percentage of free agents that are restricted. DQ is going nowhere.
I think teams intended to freeze this offseason when they set up the whole CBA-expiration thing. No one wants a dynasty to happen for the next 5 years because some team is willing to sign a bajillion FAs this year.

His agent sounds like an asshole.

How do you dismiss an athlete who stuck his noggin´ into 188 tackles for you in 2008?
mooncamping called him a heat seeker prior to the 2009 season. Maybe that was unfair seeing as the defensive scheme allowed for it. In a classic 3-4, the linebackers defend their areas, they are not compelled to leave it. So since I´m such an acolyte, 188 tackles is shameful. But once again, how do you find fault in a positive?
He´s adequate as an inside linebacker, what more can I say? I think a first round tender is exorbitant, he´s not that extraordinary, if you don´t put a high premium on heart.
First of all, did you just refer to yourself in the 3rd person? Ok Rickey…
Second of all, NFL teams historically do not pay for past play. If he is so adamant about getting paid, he can go play for the Dansby sweepstakes runner-up and we can move on.
Don’t get so excited about tackle numbers (see Andra Davis 2003 and 2005).

We must be the only 5-11 team to have half of our players thinking they deserve to get “paid.”
