Opponents for 2010 Cleveland Browns Preseason Games Announced
The NFL released the matchups that will take place each week in the 2010 preseason. As always, only some of the specific dates (which correspond to prime time games) are known to this point.
Here are the teams that the Cleveland Browns will face, in order:
- Preseason Week 1 (Aug. 12-16): Cleveland Browns vs. Green Bay Packers
- Preseason Week 2 (Aug. 19-23): St. Louis Rams vs. Cleveland Browns
- Preseason Week 3 (Aug. 26-29): Cleveland Browns vs. Detroit Lions
- Preseason Week 4 (Sept. 2-3): Chicago Bears vs. Cleveland Browns
The NFL just loves seeing us face the NFC North. This year, all four of our preseason opponents come from the NFC. Week 1 we get to be annihalted by the Packers offense just like last year, Week 2 we build false hope under Jake Delhomme at home, Week 3 we have another shootout with the Lions, and Week 4 sees a battle of the backups. Sounds like fun!

Fortunately, though, unless the local contracts changed/expired, these are the games we get to soak in the wisdom of Bernie Kosar.

Browns 2010 Record prediction
Early prediciton:
7 – 9 3rd in the division
Pittsburgh will be 6 -10 and 4th.
I think there is some condition where it is mandatory we face Detroit every year, hence the “Great Lakes Classic” label the game is always given.

its the fact the teams are so close to each other. you’ll see with a little research that in the preseason that there is a very similar schedule each year for a lot of teams. Houston vs Tampa Bay, NY Giants vs NE, PHI vs BAL. its how they save money the only difference in general is if the divisions face each other in regular season & even then sometimes they just reschedule those games for later in the year.
Right, I get the concept, but they could at least create some more draw for the preseason by having us face some other opponents. I mean, we’re not too far from the likes of Philadelphia and New England, but we usually just stick exclusively with the NFC North it seems.
